1 review of Honolulu Fish Auction

Fish auction

The Hawaiians eat much fish, and the best tuna for sushi and Japanese food come from Hawaii. I had the chance to go to a fish auction. It was very interesting. The auction begins at five o'clock every day and prices change depending on quantity and quality. The largest fish sold is "ahi" (tuna) which is a fish that is eaten raw in sushi or poke. There are also many other fish, some very rare. They cut a piece off the tail so you can see the quality. Most goes to Japan, but also sold far to restaurants and shops. It is the only fresh fish auction of its kind in the US.
