Mount Floyen

Es increíble la cantidad de visitantes que desean tener ante sus ojos la increíble vista que regala la cima del monte Fløyen, horas de cola le esperan a aquel viajero que no sea avezado y decida posponer la visita más tarde de las 10 de la mañana. Antes de esa hora la afluencia de visitantes es más que soportable, pero a partir de ese fatídico momento, las hordas de turistas y cruceristas hacen que subir en el Fløibannen (funicular) sea una empresa casi imposible, y que nos restará tiempo para conocer el resto de las maravillas que nos ofrece la espectacular ciudad de Bergen. Quien como nosotros sea avispado, correrá, literalmente, para que su primera visita sea la del monte Fløyen y subiendo en el funicular que en poco menos de 5 minutos nos pondrá en la cima de la montaña podrá disfrutar de una vista insuperable de la ciudad en 180º. Aparte de poder observar la estructura de la ciudad vieja y nueva, el lugar tiene numerosas sendas para excursionistas que aparecen perfectamente preparadas y señaladas, que parten desde la cima y llevan al bosque que rodea la montaña. Decidimos tomar uno de ellos, cortito, que nos llevó al lago Skomakerdiket para luego bajar a la ciudad en el mismo funicular, por aquello de aprovechar bien el tiempo en la ciudad. Los que quedaron arriba quizá disfrutaron de las tirolinas que se encuentran en un lado de la cima, de un paseo en bicicleta, del restaurante Sky de cocina local y tradicional o incluso conocer los encantadores interiores del restaurante Fløien que lleva trepado a la cima desde 1925. Desde luego que es toda una experiencia subir hasta lo alto de la montaña, pero recuerden que debe ser su primera visita en Bergen.

Para subir al Monte Floyen hay que coger un funicular en la estación del Floibanen, el ticket ida y vuelta cuesta 70 NOK y tarda unos 8 minutos. Desde allí las vistas son impresionantes, se ve todo Bergen y como los barcos navegan por los fiordos. Ademas de las vistas a la ciudad, recomiendo darse un paseo por los bosques del monte Floyen.
