A film set, this restaurant is located within the Archbishop's Palace. There are other places too, but this one is noted for the quality of its cuisine. The only problem is that you pay European prices. You can find many places in Quito to eat well at a much lower price, but here you can give in to the whim and have a feast, quantity and quality.
With cheese fondue, meat fondue, cookies, roast potatoes, delicious thin loins, chicken and fish specialties of the house. Lots of real chocolate and coffee. Daily set menu as at home. Free Wi-Fi. Excellent service and atmosphere. Your culinary meeting point in Quito and Baños de Agua Santa.
If you want good Mexican food in a fun, relaxed ambiance, I'd recommend stopping by Red Hot Chili Peppers. They have all the classic Mexican dishes found on menus around the world. The manager himself is Mexican and can recommend dishes according to your tastes if need be. All in all a cozy atmosphere, good food, fair prices.
This bar is undoubtedly the most popular throughout the city, the Plaza Foch bar is relaxed, but its mostly famous for the modest cost of their beers which are served from 16h (we saw more than one tourist on the floor in mid afternoon). In other words, party and meetings in an unpretentious place, Ambrosia is the place to go.
Special place in the historic center of Quito in a former 19th century mansion, beautifully decorated with artwork and beneath one of the most comprehensive wine cellars in the city. When you decide to come to this beautiful Latin American city, do not miss the historic center of the city and especially the old neighbourhoods are being turned into cozy places, with an excellent gourmet fusion cuisine, free from grease and the wide variety of wines from new and old world, in their cellar. The experience is unforgettable.
The Fruteria Monserrate, is a restaurant in the heart of a pedestrian street in colonial Quito, the Fruteria Monserrate is a very famous place in the capital. Both local people and tourists enjoy the menu, (it's a bit pricey, but good quality, from starters to desserts Lunch) it's over two floors, with wooden and industrial decoration.
No doubt this is the most beautiful bar in Quito, La Boca del Lobo, which is a great place sponsored by Absolut vodka, where all flavours are served through a cocktail and all drinks are from the brand. It invites revelers looking for a little quiet, to immerse themselves in the ultra colorful decoration of it's various products, have a drink, or Ecuadorian meal with Spanish touches, by candlelight or flashy lights. A trip to the wonderful world of Alice, a conscious acid trip, a child view.
If you can't make it to Colombia during your trip to South America, Hacienda de Los Arrieros is a great place to try some traditional Colombian cuisine. It's a small restaurant on the main road linking the La Floresta neighborhood with El Ejido park. Most items on the menu cost around $7-8.00 and they even have some interesting Colombian liquors to try!
The Fray Francisco restaurant, is located right across from San Francisco, its a small restaurant which can be found at the bottom of a colonial patio, which offers a typical lunch for less than $3 for a starter, main course and fruit juice. It's a local favourite and offers one of the best services, fast and smiling, Quito.
The Cafeto is located next to the convent of the San Agustin Museum. Its a small cafeteria, which is located in an old colonial mansion with the white limestone walls, is a refuge for a good coffee that is delightfully ground in the room or attic, but also for eating a cake or a nice lunch.
Inerviker, is located at the start of Modern Quito in the young area near Plaza Foch, the brewery is installed in a pink colonial house, which offers lovers of the drink, good, homemade beers at a fairly high price, but the neighborhood is very nice, and the bar is frequented mainly by tourists. Very good place with a small pool.
In the neighborhood of La Floresta, just opposite the Super Maxi, located in a small shopping center with a large library and a bakery, MUAi offers yogurt ice creams decorated with chocolate. A great gift for health.
This chain of cafe, as the name suggests, in different parts of Quito, such as the commercial center of La Coralina, but also other not far from the Plaza Foch. In addition to being a cafe where you can enjoy a good coffee (for the Ecuadorian irony when you hold us), it is also a place that offers many Spanish products.
Located in a beautiful courtyard, Kaypi attracts locals and tourists looking for a good inexpensive Ecuadorian lunch served with a smile. It has a calm and peaceful atmosphere despite being only a few steps away from the noise and bustle of Quito's historic center. It¡'s a must if you want to try authentic Ecuadorian cuisine.
Located within the Museum of the City, Dios le Pague is a small restaurant which operates in the building's historic courtyard. For me, it's one of the most enchanting places in the city to get a drink or a bite to eat after exploring the historic district. The prices are higher than average but they have a good selection.
Behind this peculiar name, is a place that has very tasteful decor, and a the place where one of the most popular cakes that can be enjoyed in the modern part of Quito. It is known for the quality of its products based on bee nectar, but also 100% organic Ecuadorian chocolate. If the prices are a little high, and it's a little cheesy, the quality is more than on point.
