Restaurants in Lagos
JOTTA 13 Restaurant
(13)
This is a restaurant we always go to when we visit Algarve and of course Lagos, one of the most beautiful cities in the whole area. It´s a luxury for its absence, but its comfortable, nice, with good service and very centric You must try its seafood rice and above all the prawns made in a Mozambique style.
Restaurants in Vila Real de Santo António
Don Petisco Restaurant
(5)
The Restaurante Don Petiscohe has a window on the edge of the Guadiana in Vila Real de Sto. Antonio. It's an excellent place to enjoy fresh fish overlooking the river. From its terrace, right on the river, enjoy a nice long evening thanks to the menu they offer, the friendliness of its staff and the privileged location. There aren't always tables so it's advisable to make a reservation or arrive early. Definitely worth it.

Beach Bar in Praia da Rocha
(10)
I am looking forward to going back... The beach bars of Praia da Rocha are new, very modern, all the same. The breathtaking views, a calm sea. The fried sardines, Seville-style or Portuguese-style squid, which are delicious, clams ... And as in Portugal, golden cod ... All very delicious and generously accompanied by fries or salad. Nothing taste better at the coast sea than fresh sea food.
Restaurants in Lagos
Adega da Marina
(7)
One of the best and greatest restaurants I discovered in Lagos, in fact, we actually went two or three times during my stay in the Algarve, and I must say it was always full of people, especially English because they were the most common tourists in the area. The restaurant Adega de Marina is located on the main avenue of the promenade which is close to the historic center of the city. In addition to the variety of meat and fish dishes, another of its main attractions is the speed that they serve you despite how many people who go there for lunch or even dinner. And what about prices? Without ordering dessert, the bill did not exceed €30 for two people. A restaurant that I recommend if you visit Lagos in the Algarve.
Restaurants in Lagos
Dom Henrique Restaurant
(5)
The restaurant D. Henrique was one of the places we visited in Lagos,a nd it was recommended by the Michelin Guide. The place is cozy and tastefully decorated, with many decorative motifs, such as the crib or pine, and it reminded us that Christmas was coming. We decided on a specialty of the house called Cataplana de Peixe, which was delicious, and almond pie dessert and lemon sorbet, all accompanied by wine and soft drinks, coffee, etc. for 2 people the bill was not over 40 euros, so I recommend it because the price / quality is excellent.
Restaurants in Alvor
Canico Restaurant
(6)
This is the best restaurant in Algarve. This is a place that has a variety of dishes that are both unique and exclusive. At night this restaurant becomes a great club in front of a spectacular beach. Restaurant prices are high and reserves need to eat, but worth going to the best corner of Portimão. Caniço!
Restaurants in Castro Marim
Sem Espinhas Restaurant
(2)
Sem Espinhas is a chain of 4 restaurants on the east coast of the Portuguese Algarve, the first on the beach of Manta Rota, the second beach do Cabeço (between Monte Gordo and height), the third in an old building in the historical Vila Real de Sto. Antonio, along the Guadiana and finally fourth, informal beach also do Cabeço. We usually go to the beach restaurant do Cabeço, built of wood on the beach, with huge windows overlooking the sea. The decor is cheerful, and consists of modern paintings, vivid and matching placemats, but more important is the quality of the fish. At the entrance there is a cabinet with very fresh fish of the day you can choose from, golden, sea bass, sea bream, sole, turbot, for one or several, depending on the market date. One time I chose to try the grilled roast, and it was not oily nor dry, but perfect. With the roast, I had vegetables and boiled potatoes. You can also choose other dishes from a very extensive menu, including salads, meats and delicacies of the Algarve, Cataplana, seafood rice, or rice and dessert knives, following the good Portuguese tradition, a wide variety of delicious cakes. It is not cheap because it is a very formal place only for exclusive clientele, but considering what you get for your money, I do think it is a pretty good value.

O Patio Restaurant
(3)
Taking your recommendation I went to the O Patio for lunch after a morning at the Algar Seco. Not bad at all though the cilantro rice with seafood killed me. I'm sorry but I hate it! The service was okay but what I did like was the rice for one person . The portion was enough for two people. The location was charming but I wouldn´t come back. It was okay to eat outside in fresh air. It left me with an indecisive feeling. Ok for one time.
Restaurants in Faro
Restaurante Adega Nova
(4)
Faro is the capital of the Algarve, a predominantly tourist area, so you have to be careful that they don't try to bait and switch you or your wallet will suffer. We had good references for this restaurant, but when we arrived we found something much better than we imagined. It's in the centre of Faro, away from the harbour area and very close to the train station. The place is really cozy, decorated like a Portuguese canteen, all in stone and wood. It has two floors, on the main floor the kitchen is on the left and the tables are on the right, then there's a staircase leading to the upper floor with a smaller, more intimate dining area. They offer a long list of daily specials for less than 10 euros and you can also choose dishes from an extensive menu. We decided on two dishes of the day, lamb chops and squid in its own ink, plus almond cake for dessert, beer, soda, bread and coffee for just under 22 euros. The restaurant is frequented by locals for the dish of the day, executives and even people ve opt for takeaway. You should definitely visit this restaurant, it's a safe bet.
Restaurants in Portimão
Marisqueira Carvi Restaurant
(3)
The marisqueria Carvi, is situated in the heart of Portimao, specifically on the main street of the city and is a small place with a terrace. The friendliness and professionalism of the service is impeccable, from the moment you get there til the moment you walk out. The restaurant is decorated with Portuguese tiles, there is something like only a dozen small tables, but it is really cozy. To begin with appetizers was something I wanted, and it was one of the few times I did not reject: delicious anchovies and octopus spatter. For the main course we chose: Bream and camarao lane, I had no idea what it was, but eventually I managed to finish it and it was a shrimp cream, with a touch spicy. For dessert cake, a delicious almond cake, typical of the region.
Restaurants in Albufeira
Restaurante Atrium
(4)
The "cataplana" is a delicious seafood cauldron with fish, vegetables and boiled rice mixed together. It was heavenly after an endless search for a not so "touristy" restaurant. This restaurant is located in Albufeira. The menu is in English as well as Portuguese, something that is inevitable in Albufeira. However, in this case, the price to quality ratio was great. It is an old theater, and has really small tables for two up on a few balconies overlooking the street. Everything was delicious. Robalos, bass, and Dorado, seabass, were a hit. €12-14 for generous portions. Well, this is my small contribution to Minube.
Cafés in Albufeira
Bella Canela
(6)
A cafe/bar that you must go to if you are in Albufeira! It´s located in a pretty central area, close to the main nightlife street (Oura area) and the Albufeira shopping district. They have an extensive menu with pizza (excellent - don´t hesitate to try them), burgers, paella, pastas, salads .... ice cream, caipirinhas, mojitos, sangrias (red and white) and champagne and all kinds of cocktails. There´s a smoking area (closed and heated in the winter) on a large terrace where you can enjoy the very long days of sunshine that Algarve has to offer. Very helpful and friendly staff. There are happy hour specials that are really cheap. A must see!

Club Nau

This elegant fusion restaurant on the beach has great prices, great food, and a pleasant atmosphere. It's perfect for a grilled fish, octopus, grilled meats, vegetarian menu, children's menu, or salad. It also has a pretty good wine list. The service is great and they sometimes feature live music. It's in the middle of the beach, with a great sea views from the terrace. It's an ideal place to have a drink and enjoy some live music at sunset.
Restaurants in Estombar
Cantinha O Charneco
(1)
The restaurant O Charneco, is approximately 5 kilometers from the town of Portimao in Estombar, just a few meters from the church. It's a tavern, rustically decorated, with benches and tablecloths. It's received various awards throughout its 25 year history, and they sit proudly on the walls. They have a set menu to choose from including several dishes. The lamb was very good, but the sauce was a little liquidy. Choose between cake or fruit salad, coffee for dessert and drink house wines and soft drinks, We paid 25€ per person.
Restaurants in Olhos de Água
Tavertino's
(3)
Tavertino's restaurant is located in Olhos de Agua, near the beach. We were staying at the Hotel Velamar, so we drove a couple of days to dine at this restaurant. The restaurant is quite large with indoor seating and a terrace. The terrace features both an indoor and an outdoor part. On the covered terrace there used to be direct music at night was very lively. The kitchen is Portuguese, with many fish dishes. For the people that love meat, although the kitchen has tons of different fish varieties, there are plenty of other options too. They also had pizza, burgers and omelettes on several things, so there were dishes to suit all tastes. Everything was very good and the prices were typical of the area, so it was not expensive. The only downside that I found is that the service is painfully slow at times, so it seems that the waiters have gone fishing dinner!

O Manjar
(6)
When we arrived in Albufeira, the first problem we encountered was with the parking lot, there wasn't a single place available. On top of that it was raining cats and dogs, so we had to find somewhere dry. We parked in the first spot we could find and were lucky that after walking just a few meters we come face to face with the restaurant we were looking for. It's modest, but very cozy with great home cooked food, with seating for about 30. The décor was simple and definitely the best part was the friendliness of the waitress, ve greeted the clientele with great familiarity, everyone was Portuguese except us. They made a huge effort to speak to us in Spanish, and were very friendly and helpful. We chose a fixed menu for 9 euros a plate with sausage, bacon, eggs and potatoes, very light hehe, but the truth is it was a perfect meal for the freezing cold outside. You could also choose dishes a la cart from the menu, so we opted for lamb chops with salad, and almond cake for dessert. I definitely recommend this place, you can eat well for a good price.
