The Alameda Tapas Bar is one of those bars with its own taste where we can enjoy good beers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Also enjoy the famous fine Siguenza (the typical drink of Siguenza). Although the highlight of this place is the wide variety of homemade tapas. Value for money makes this place one of the meeting points of the town.
We were visiting Siguenza this weekend, and among the places you have to visit, I would recommend this tavern. The atmosphere is cozy, the owners are lovely, and the food is delicious. To change a bit, we ordered bread crumbs with mushrooms. There's mushroom tasting which allows you to try different varieties of them, and medieval Tapas, very spicy and tasty .... Well we all really liked everything and the price. I recommend making a stop in the tavern. We will return.
A nobleman's mansion from the XVI century restored. The menu displayed outside and the fact it had a Michelin star was the reason we opted for this restaurant, located on Main Street of Siguenza, as the name suggests, near the cathedral and castle. The truth is that we were pleasantly surprised, everything was great and good value for money. The sautéed mushrooms with foie gras, roast kid were exquisite and scrumptious.
What a classico going mushrooms-picking is. I remember doing it with my father on the outskirts of Madrid when I was little, although I admit that we never did it consistently. However, we are talking about a whole science. A hobby that requires a lot of determination and, above all, knowledge, to avoid large shocks. On our trip to Siguenza we were lucky to have superb hosts, as Enrique of El Doncel(a must), a true expert in mycology who took us around the village to pick mushrooms that we could later eat. The experience was both fun and insightful.
