Restaurants in Geneva
Chez Ma Cousine
(8)
Chez Ma Cousine is a restaurant in the heart of Geneva where, as the caption under the name says, "eat chicken." Although we can find some other dishes, it's almost necessary to try the half roast chicken, served with potatoes and salad wedge with Caesar dressing, all very delicious and served quickly, as they have a high demand at peak times. That menu comes out to 15 per person, not counting drinks or desserts, of which I recommend the "crème brûlée catalane" and the chocolate fondant.

Asturian Centre of Geneva
(7)
This is one of the most warm and welcoming places in Geneva. It is run by a Galician couple. Each of the owners has a role in the restaurant - the husband does nothing and the wife does it all. They serve an impressive ribeye steak, magnificent Galician octopus, and overall, you can spend a great night surrounded by your countrymen. It is perfect to watch Spanish league matches while enjoying a good steak.

Cave Valaisanne et Chalet Suisse
(4)
In Cave Valaisanne - Chalet Suisse, you can have a 100% Swiss dining experience. Decorated like its surroundings with horns and snowshoes on the wall, it is a Alpine refuge in the Alps serving cheese or meat fondues. This is a more than suitable place to enjoy entirely authentic cuisine. I tried both dishes, and though the cheese was only alright (perhaps it needed more wine than I thought), I loved the meat. The food is made then and there for your taste. The two fondues, which are more than enough for two people, with drinks cost us about € 70. The staff, like the most in Geneva, is attentive, friendly and pretty fast. You can find cheaper places to try fondue, but this is certainly the most authentic. I recommend it, it's worth it.

Da Paolo
(4)
The best Italian restaurant in Geneva and one of the better ones I've been to in general, at least as far as pizza goes. It's awesome! If you're in Geneva, do not hesitate to go to Da Paolo. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the owners and bartenders are very friendly (they're Italian, of course). The pasta is also delicious. I especially recommend the "4 Seasons" pizza. Good beer, good desserts, this place has it all.

Restaurant Les Antiquaires
(3)
This small restaurant in beautiful downtown Geneva, offers customers a wide range of typical Swiss meals (especially Fondue, four different types, the specialty of the house) with a very welcoming and good service. They also speak all sorts of languages ... Lovely! The price was half of other restaurants in the city, 26 euros per person for a fondue ... But with the guarantee of leaving the place more than happy with your decision. Highly recommended.
Culinary Interest in Geneva
Gelatomania
(4)
Gelatomania is a small place just behind the main road besides Lake Léman, in Geneva, close to the main tourist point of the city, the Jet d'Eau. In this small room you can enjoy a tasty ice cream. There are lots of typical flavors ranging from chocolate, chai tea, green tea or a blend of kiwi with apple, and you can find the usual flavors of ice cream shops and every week they change the options or add something new. You can decide whether to buy a tub, a cone or take home a pint or a quart of ice cream. They offer all of these options to their customers.
Cafés in Geneva
Boréal Coffee Shop
(4)
Boréal Coffee is a special cafe, tiny but cozy, with everything from students with highlighters, workers, families with children, etc. and is very close to the shopping street (Rue de la Confédération, called the Golden Cross). My favorite smoothie is the white chocolate Oreo. Riquísimo! There's another Boréal Coffee in the Cornavin area, you can't sit inside but it serves coffee to go.
Restaurants in Geneva
La Boucherie
(4)
La Boucherie (The Butcher in Spanish) is a restaurant that specializes in veal near the Mont-Blanc. Menus or generally affordable for what is normal in Geneva (25CHF without drinks) like the steak with sauce, served with chips and salad. The place is strange, as it looks to combine the aesthetics of an elegant restaurant with the family of one chain, so the result is strange, but the deal is very good and the food is not bad, the meat is high quality. Surely there will be better places to enjoy a steak, but this is one of the few to suit all budgets.

Brasserie de l'Hotel de Ville
(1)
In the historic center of Geneva, at the top, is one of the best places in town to enjoy one of the country's dishes: cheese fondue. This is what we were recommended to do, and it was not a mistake. The place is spectacular. You have to go early (and by ¨early¨ I mean before 20h) if you want to to have a place without reservation. But the fondue is spectacular. You can order it alone or accompanied by a kind of ham and potatoes (highly recommend both). Not cheap, but the quality of the product is worth it. You will always remember your dinner.

Les Brasseurs
(2)
Geneva doesn't have too many places to eat and drink at affordable prices. However, around station square, or plaza Cornavin, you can find "haunts" where a drink won't empty your pockets. One of these sites is Les Brasseurs: A beer garden of the square. The menu has both French and German dishes, lovely pizzas (or Flam) and salads, they also manufacture some of their own beers.

Sushi Shop
(2)
Friendly restaurant near the shopping area of Geneva, with a variety of sushi, sashimi, Temaki, plates, dishes and delicious desserts. You can eat there, order online and collect the food in-store or have it delivered at home. There are packs of 6 pieces (salmon, avocado, chicken, vegetarian, spicy, etc.) from 4.70-10CHF besides and rice bowls, soup, etc. It's very good! I'll upload pictures the next time I go, which is a vice!

Cafe du Marche
(1)
The city of Carouge, right next to Geneva, has a special charm on its streets. The place is a "Mediterranean" next to the Swiss gin. Walking through its streets is interesting. I recommend taking a look at its stores and restaurants. The Cafe du Marche is a place that is also charming and perfect for a drink while the busy market square is alive in front of you. If you're not hungry, it's also a great place to enjoy a good coffee and pleasant conversation.
Restaurants in Geneva
Restaurant New Navy Bar
(1)
Just down the famous Place du Bourg-du-oven pizzeria / bar, The New Navy is a small cozy restaurant with friendly staff. Classic dishes like really good pizza are offered besides traditional options like raclette, cheese fondue or crust, a specialty in Geneva, made with bread baked in white wine and topped with melted cheese.
Restaurants in Geneva
Restaurant L'Age d'Or
(1)
The L'Age d'Or is basically an institution in Geneva! It's a cozy, warm place near the Cornavin train station that specializes in thick crust mini-pizzas,a treat that's immensely popular with the locals. And they're right! The pizzas are delicious, crunchy and fresh, and prices are very affordable which is always a plus.

Glacier

I've had breakfast in many places on each trip I've taken to Geneva, and it hasn't been bad, even breakfast in Cornavin is fine, easily the best croissants I've had in my life. On my last trip I had breakfast in a little street stand isolated on a corner on the sidewalk without anything next door, clearly well situated!. It's small inside, has 3 or 4 tables. If you stay next to Cornavin station and and the breakfast isn't included, this place is highly recommended, delicious pastries and what I liked, a large cup of coffee with milk. Price? Normal, dont remember exactly what I paid, but it sure wasn't expensive because I'd remember. It's just halfway in a straight line towards the lake (du Mont-Blanc bridge), opposite the Post Office, which is a monumental building and doesn't go unnoticed. The cafeteria "Glacier" is on the right hand side on the way down to the lake in the Rue du Mont-Blanc. In my opinion it's a good place to start the day and start kicking a city that is very "walkable", no need for a car. I've left a photo of the cafeteria to be more specific and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Patricia Léman
