Noah’s is a sun-filled restaurant located in the quaint Stonington Borough. Notably, the movie, Hope Springs with Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones filmed a scene in Noah’s. Noah’s serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner - but is known by locals for their incredible weekend brunch. They have delicious French toast, pancakes, omelettes, and many other delicious American and Portuguese - inspired breakfasts. For lunch and dinner they serve local shellfish, fish, meats, and vegetable dishes using local foods when possible. They also offer an additional gluten free and vegetarian menu. When visiting Noah’s be sure to check out the walls, as they are lined with local paintings and drawings that are for sale.
The Bleu Squid Bakery is a unique bakery - with more than just baked goods - located in the heart of Olde Mystick Village. Their claim to fame is their homemade cupcakes that boast over 60 flavor combinations. My favorite cupcake that I've tried so far is the simple chocolate and orange - the flavors in the cupcake and frosting are just so good. In store they also sell cheese, other baked goods, and homemade dog biscuits. Additionally, The Bleu Squid Bakery creates and makes specialty grilled cheese sandwiches, including lobster grilled cheese and artichoke grilled cheese, to eat in store or to go.
Located in the heart of the quaint Stonington Borough, The Yellow House Cafe looks like it is straight out of a movie set. They serve coffee, tea, and cold drinks as well as sandwiches, bagels, and baked goods. During my visit, I ordered a cinnamon bagel with cream cheese and a cold chai tea that was absolutely delicious. Their indoor seating is spacious and they do have a couple of outdoor tables to enjoy on a nice day. The Yellow House Cafe also sells art by local artists and small but creative gifts. If you are looking for a coffee or light meal during your visit to Southeastern Connecticut look no further than Yellow House Cafe.
I stopped at 4 Roosevelt Asian Bistro to pick up a meal to go recently. Though the name is slightly confusing, 4 Roosevelt Asian Bistro is an Asian restaurant located near the train station in Mystic, Connecticut. I ordered two bowls of Pho, the chicken and the beef, and both were very simple and delicious. The soups came with spices, herbs, and bean sprouts to add in to flavor the soup to your taste and the portion sizes were incredibly generous. I'd love to go back to eat in the restaurant and order a larger meal off of their extensive and authentic menu soon.
