One of the traditional restaurants in the city and a place where you can try all different types of Venezuelan food, natural juices, cachapa, oriental pabellon and creole, chucho pastries, black grilled meat, etc.
It was a unique experience .. It is a place with a spectacular view .. It has two atmospheres: one with armchairs and one with a too cozy hammocks and a terrace .. Outside there are excellent views and a varied menu where you will find tequeños and even sushi .... It is a magical place to come visit and the service is really good. I highly recommend it ..
Sushi on the beach (Venezuela). Aquarena is an inn in Gran Roque, which is also a restaurant, cocktail bar and even craft store. The best thing about it is that it's right on the beach and the restaurant has unusual specialties such as sushi. As for the cocktail bar, it's great to have a beer at sunset while watching the local fishermen return with their catches of the day.
This is a famous French pastry shop in eastern Caracas. It is famous is because they are the creators of an exquisite cake called Fressier, consisting of two thin layers of sponge cake filled with fresh strawberries and cream. There is also a version that is similar but with peach: Melocotonier. You can order them individually or for several people.
The Bucare is a beautiful tree with orange flowers, common in Venezuelan. This restaurant has both the name and the color of the tree: Yellow, green, orange and beautiful flower arrangements are presented in its décor, designed by architect Totón Sanchez. The partners (four brothers) make sure to take care of every detail and in every dish or drink that the customer consumes. The menu has different things from pizzas to traditional dishes such as ceviche served over mashed sweet potato chips crisps. Desserts are a delight and will stay in your memory for long time. They also have a cocktail menu and wine list.
This restaurant left me with mixed emotions. It's surrounded by fresh green vegetation but filled with cages of macaws and other birds, and in my opinion they should be free. But it's a famous restaurant, over 50 years old, specialising in delicious food, including halibut with horseradish cream, prawn curry with banana, turkey breast in mango sauce, and more.
Its owner, Evio di Marzo, is a musician and often plays on the weekends at the restaurant. It is a small Italian restaurant situated in Los Palos Grandes, the "Little Manhattan" in Caracas, which is full of restauratnes, bars and clubs. It has a nice terrace on a little noisy street because it is blind. I recommend the pizza with goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes. I also recommend the fried empanadas.
The golfeado is a typical Venezuelan sweet that is a kind of bread sweetened with brown sugar (which is juiced sugar cane passed through cooking) and it has a slice of cheese and salty Fressco. It's a perfect combination all together and it is best to eat it while warm and freshly made. Don Goyo is a franchise that is dedicated exclusively to this type of sweet and services it with various types of cheese, but always hot and fluffy. You can find it in several commercial centers in Caracas and the city's international airport.
This is a little charming outdoor restaurant where five dishes offered that change daily, selected from the 2,500 recipes that the cook has acquired, whose name is Maria Sanchez. Some dishes highly recommendable are the trout with leek mojito, the chicken crossed trujillano with smoked pork chops, and chicken Maria Jacinta, a stew of vegetables and spices. Breakfasts are also recommended, and you can find delicious baked pastries stuffed with ground beef and chicken.
This was a real treat to discover almost by accident, a charming place to unwind. Comfort food, grass under your feet, beautiful lamps that look like dandelions ... a real oasis in the bustle of Caracas. The menu offers everything from comforting soup to delicious burgers. You can also find some juices, and a small selection of tea. I love it!
This is a former coffee plantation with almost 300 years of history backing it up and was converted to restaurant and inn, inside the Avila National Park, on the road leading to La Guaira. It has stunning views of the sunset over the Caribbean Sea and the mountains of Avila. It's expensive and costs around 20 euros for dinner and 60 for a stay, but the place is unique.
A spectacular cafe, not just for its decor - full of antique coffee grinding machines, bags, and plantation paraphernalia - but also because you can choose from different coffee estates, both Venezuelan and international, and enjoy a lovely interior room, or a terrace with a great vibe at night.
Japanese restaurants have become part of the Caracas landscape. Since my last visit four years ago, they've spread across the city, and some even dare to "tropicalize" the original Japanese dishes, adding mango and banana to the traditional fare. The menu here has more than 100 varieties of sushi, maki, sashimi, tempura, salad, rolls, and more.
We decided to go for brunch here. After a little wait, we were delighted by the cheese fondue, a delicious dish for dipping dumplings, banana and divine pastries. I chose sausage hamburger with caramelised onions and an egg. What a great combination! In the pictures you can see my friends' choices - Creole breakfast, cheese and ham ... everything was just great.
Caracas is very popular in terms of Japanese food, so in every commercial center and several restaurants you will be able to find this specialty. In in Plaza las Americas Baruta is the Daruma, offering executive menus Monday through Friday at very affordable price. You can also go to have dinner, but it´s a bit more expensive. They have a terrace and indoor lounge.
Piccolo belongs to a family with a long history in the restaurant business and it shows both on their dishes and in the staff's service. The food is simple but made with fresh ingredients and is of very good quality. The owners pride themselves on being true to the "Italian cuisine" and offering handicrafts as well as food.
This deli offers breakfasts, lunches, and snacks. For breakfast, they have traditional Andean pies and cakes, as well as more original fare. The also offer more for lunch and snack dishes. The freshly made fruit juices are delightful.
