Nestled in the lovely area of St Armands Circle in Sarasota, the Macaron is a small shop that recently opened (late August 2009) and, if we go by the quality of its products, is sure to have a promising future! What a pleasure to find a proper French patisserie here in the United States. The macaroons are huge and delicious, with a wide choice of flavours. Very tasty!
Nestled in the heart of the Boulevard of the Presidents in Saint Armands Circle, Longboat Key, and close to the city of Sarasota on the west coast of the state of Florida, Scoop Daddy's little shop is refreshing and enjoyable, offering delicious ice cream in a wide range of flavours served in gargantuan portions in tubs or cones. We also love its soft drinks, fruit cocktails and smoothies. A great place to go if you're in need of refreshment!
Among the many shops in the very nice area of St. Armand Circle, in the pretty town of Sarasota, this one caught our eye (and our dollars!). It's a rather mysterious little shop, and you enter to a mix of delicious odors, fruity and exotic. You are entering a real Aladdin's Cave of exotic herbs and spices, aromatic and delicious. We loved the wide selection of teas, and bought four varieties, all of which were excellent. Reasonably priced and intriguing, this shop is a gateway to a completely exotic world!
Located in the heart of John Ringling Boulevard, one of the main arteries of the district of St. Armands Circle, in the municipality of Sarasota, Florida, Izabella is one of the many shops in the area, but it is extremely distinctive. There are many small items (clothing, accessories, decorative objects), each funnier and cuter than the next. Unable to resist, we all had to buy something ... especially since the prices are very reasonable!
In the heart of John Ringling Boulevard, the main street in the district of St Armands Circle, in the municipality of Sarasota, Florida, World Treasures is a small shop we like. Welcoming and warm with a simple but chic design, it sells original items inspired by exotic cultures, including the Caribbean. The prices are reasonable and the French owner is friendly and very willing to chat with customers.
Located in the heart of St. Armands Circle in Sarasota, Florida, People's Pottery is undoubtedly the most original shop and definitely one of our favorites! The sign is very small but we were attracted by the showcase. There were all kinds of stunning creations and very nice decorative jewelry. A shop like this can keep you busy for hours and it's easy to spend hundreds of dollars!
Finding a souvenir on the West Coast of Florida without falling into a tourist trap can sometimes be a challenge. We finally discovered this little shop in the heart of St. Armands Circle in Sarasota. Crazy Shirts is a fun store with a vast selection of t-shirts. There were so many we didn't know which to choose. The t-shirts are rolled up and sold in the form of gift packages too so they make a great souvenir or original gift to take back. Only $20 for a good quality t-shirt!
Located on the John Ringling Boulevard, one of the main avenues in the district of St. Armands Circle, Sarasota, Florida, Kilwin's is, according to the natives, home to THE best ice cream and chocolate in the city and certainly the region. So of course we had to venture into this Aladdin's cave of confectionery! We didn't know where to turn, with so many temptations ... praline chocolates, almond toffee crunch, caramel milk chocolate, and dozens of flavours of ice cream (the butter peanut is worth its weight in gold!). You can eat in or take away, and the window display of caramel apples is sure to make you drool!
