All about Philadelphia tourism

Philadelphia is the 5th largest city in the United States and one of the major cultural and financial metropolises of the Northeast United States. The city’s historic sites dating back to its decisive role in the Revolutionary War and signing of the American Constitution are another top reason to plan a trip to Philadelphia.

The City of Brotherly love is served by Philadelphia International Airport, one of the largest in the nation, and there are regular SEPTA trains which let visitors travel to Philadelphia from the airport with ease. Philadelphia’s South Street Station is also one of America’s principal rail hubs and has Amtrak connections with all major Northeastern cities and visitors from as far away as California can find train connections for their vacation in Philadelphia (although a flight would be much quicker!).

To visit Philadelphia is to explore the founding of the United States. Start with a visit to the Old City, home of Independence Hall where the American Constitution and Bill of Rights were signed, as well as the Liberty Bell, a symbol of the American Revolution. Philadelphia City Hall, once the tallest building in the world, is another must on any Philadelphia tourism itinerary.

If you’re lucky enough to schedule your Philadelphia holiday for March, you can attend the world-famous Philadelphia Flower Show, the largest of its kind in the world. Or, have dinner on the water while enjoying the most breathtaking views of the Philadelphia skyline aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia, a favorite local cruise line. Whatever you’re in the mood for, you can get started planning your ideal Philadelphia vacation by having a look below at the recommendations of thousands of real travelers.
