Beaches in Cancún
Cancun Beach
There are many things that I love about the Caribbean Sea, mainly the tranquility of the sea in the month of May. I went to Cancun two times and the first time, I loved the blue Caribbean Sea. It is beautiful and a nice place to see. The beaches of Cancun are nice and have a diver maritime life. There are also 7 different blues in the ocean.
Neighborhoods in Cancún
Cancun Hotel Area
The Cancun hotel zone is one of the most wonderful places I've been to since there is excellent accommodation that is both cultural and historical. There is a tremendous amount of hotels that are in this area and most importantly, they are all are very good. In my experience, the Peninsula hotel is a thoroughly modern hotel with premium facilities and services. I highly recommend it. Its location is ideal because you can catch the bus at anytime right in front of the hotel and for a very low cost. It's an area with a lot of party, culture and history that I recommend visiting. Many of the businesses here are known worldwide (such as Coco Bongo).
Airports in Cancún
Cancún International Airport
This is the 2nd largest airport in Mexico in terms of its size, but it is the 1st in terms of the sheer number of passengers it receives throughout the year. Last year it received more 11 million people (and dropped by 1 million the number of tourists in the year 2008 due to the swine flu panic that came up in the country). It is situated 16 kilometers from the center of Cancun, which belongs to the state of Quintana Roo, on the Caribbean coast, on the Yucatan Peninsula. This airport has 3 outward terminals, and various facilities like "duty-free" stores, lockers, restaurants, money exchange, etc ..., which can be found on both of its 2 floors.
Beaches in Cancún
Playa Defines
In reality, you may think that there is nothing interesting about a public beach, but what I particularly like about this one is the view it offers of the Caribbean Sea. There is no doubt about it, it is spectacular. Worth getting up in the morning, if you're an early riser go from 7 or 8 in the morning to get a palapita, bring a good book and your camera. Enjoy.
Shopping Malls in Cancún
Plaza La Isla
This place is beautiful, I'm not talking about the square but rather of the small pier, the view over the Nichupte lagoon is something unimaginable. The sunsets are fantastic. And as a little snippet, I attach some pictures taken in 2004-2005 and another in 2007 (before and after Hurricane Wilma).
Waterparks in Cancún
Delphinus Cancun
Delphinus Dreams Cancun is located next to the Hotel Dreams Cancun. Here, dolphin activites occur in a very natural space. Swimming with dolphins is an experience that everyone should experience, I loved it! In Delphinus Dreams Cancun can enjoy Primax4 Program which includes the foot push which is one of the most exciting activities of swimming with dolphins. You can also enjoy Couples Swim Program Dream in which you can share this wonderful experience with your partner, daughter, mom, dad, best friend or anyone special. The Dolphin Ride is fun!, I loved the part when the dolphin walked around my pond. This is the most unique of the programs because it is just you and the dolphin! But if you like to spend an entire day learning about dolphins, their training, feeding and swimming with them, then the Trainer for a Day program is right for you. If you are staying in the hotel zone of Cancun, Delphinus provides you with transportation to the dolphin as a courtesy. Check out this website for promotions and programs.
Beaches in Cancún
Playa Tortugas
Turtle Beach is a place where you can enjoy a wonderful swim in the Caribbean Sea. At this beache of Cancun you can swim with your young children and there are restaurants for eat rich seafood and drinks, as well as Bongee jump.
Harbors in Cancún
Ultramar Ferries
Honestly I don't think anyone likes traveling during a storm, but it happened to us one horrible day when it rained a lot, October 15th, 2011 when we were going from Cancun to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We took the beautiful ferry that rocked from side to side that day. It's an experience that you should have, if you don't get seasick on ferries as quickly as we did. The best part was the free wifi! From there we could send signs of life to our loved ones with photos, but the truth is that if I had to go to Cozumel in this ferry again, I'd do it because of the excellent service. We arrived on time and with no headaches.
Lakes in Cancún
Laguna Nichupté
Laguna Nichupté is one of my favorite places in Cancun because it is a quiet place where you can see a great diversity of wildlife, and beautiful sunsets. It is an ideal place for photography and to contemplate alone. Tt also has many restaurants and bars that are located along the lagoon so you can enjoy the scenery along with a drink and something to eat. It is an amazing place.
Nightclubs in Cancún
The Mandala opened its doors in 2007 in the city of Nayarit and, a few years later, had a presence in major cities such as Playa del Carmen and Cancun. The musical concept and advanced technology make this place a favorite of both tourists and party-goers alike. Some already consider it a jewel of the Caribbean. The Mandala is the place to be for the "beautiful people" of Cancun, as well as tourists, offering affordable prices from $50 with a capacity of 800 people and five lounges. It offers catering for special events and private parties, with an open bar and a drink service on demand. It is definitely the place to enjoy the fun of Cancun nightlife for those who know how to party. Open everyday from 8 pm to the death.
Shopping Malls in Cancún
Kukulcan Plaza
This is one of the most exclusive shopping malls in Cancun, located in the Hotel Zone. It houses major international brands including jewelry, perfume, restaurants and even a Harley Davidson shop. What stands out is its huge glass dome with multicoloured pictures. A good place to spend a day.
Beaches in Cancún
Playa Marlin
In my opinion, it´s one of the most romantic beaches in Cancun. Together with dolphins beach, it´s better known as "El Mirador" because here after searching many places I found a peaceful place and I spent the most romantic night of my life with my now wife. We stayed on the beach from sunset until dawn. It´s very quiet and safe as there are a lot of hotels and there are security personnel around for 24 hours.
Bus Stations in Cancún
ADO Bus Station
The bus station is in the center of Cancun, away from the hotel area. If you want to go on your own to Chichen Itza there are direct buses that go there and to other towns towards the south. When we arrived we found that there were direct buses to Chichen Itza at 8:45 and 9:05, so we were lucky to get up so early. The truck (as they are called here) took about two hours and took us to entrance of the great ruins of Chichen Itza.

Religious Pictures in Cancún
It's a great pleasure to be able to live near the culmination of nature and man's creativity. Beauty in Cancun, lovely religious figures made out of wood. The creations of the Mexican artisans were incredible, located inside one of the main parks in the area. You have to see them up close to appreciate the attention to detail.

Beaches in Cancún
Punta Cancun
A turquoise treasure of warm, transparent liquid patiently awaits whoever discovers it. This is the Punta Cancun beach in the easternmost part of the island. This exceptional place is ideal for diving and snorkeling, and the starting point to go by boat or sailboat and explore the wonders of the place. Located in the heart of the hotel zone, Punta Cancun offers a wide variety of hotels, as well as ease of access to the most important place, Avenida Kukulcan. The Punta Cancun Beach welcomes everyone!
Beaches in Cancún
Playa Caracol
This little gem does not have a fixed address, but it is a closely guarded secret in Cancun. A small beach about thirty feet long with a long dock, it is ideal for having a good time away from the busy Cancun beaches, and an excellent spot for very good Caribbean photographs. Located at KM 9 blvd. Kukulcan, the reference to get to it is the Aloft hotel and Mocambo Square, opposite the hotel there is a small entrance to this long relaxing beach. I hope you enjoy it!
Bike Paths in Cancún
Bus from Belize to Cancun
The end of Belize was fine, but the food was much more expensive than in Guatemala. For the same plate of rice and beans, we paid a lot more, and the people are not quite as warm. Also, you need to plan lodging a little more carefully so as not be stranded in the middle of nowhere once night falls. . Wilder's all, a night to sleep with a snake and a scorpion, it was the best night of my trip ... it is right at Mexico´s border, but I couldn´t get more than 30 days with my bike, so I had to shorten my trip, ending in Yucatan instead of Mexico City . The road is long, almost a highway, I'm on the road emergency. A busload of tourists to tell me I'm crazy. And soon, the village of Bacalar appears, and another road much more sympathetic to the edge of the cenotes and lagoons. Cenotes are pools of water, which were once underground, but the porous rock fell and now they are outdoors. You can bathe, after a day of bike is paradise. Food is much more varied, healthy, tasty and inexpensive in Belize.

The best things to do in Cancún

Have you already put your swimsuit in your suitcase and are wondering what to do in Cancun? Well, bring another one just in case! There are so many beaches that you will not know which one to choose. Playa Maroma, Playa Langosta, Caracol Beach, and Dolphin Beach, also known as El Mirador for its spectacular views over the Caribbean, top the list of places to visit in Cancun.

But the beaches, although the most famous things to see in Cancun, are not the only attraction of this Mexican city. Do not miss the Esplanade, with its 103-meter high flagpole. Located in the Hotel Zone, the flag is visible from much of the city. Around this area are also monuments and museums to visit.

The Riviera Maya stretches along the Yucatan Peninsula,
and is a 120-kilometer long playground full of Cancun activities for you to enjoy, with white sand beaches and spectacular Mayan archaeological sites such as Chichen Itza, El Meco, and Yamil Lu'um. These historical attractions in Cancun will show you that the beach is not the only thing worth seeing here! Stuff to do in Cancun is far more varied than you might think.
