This fortress served as a shelter and protected the city from attacks by sea. It was later used to imprison the most dangerous offenders. The dangerous Jesus Arriaga was kept here. The Aquarium in the Port of Veracruz is a great place for a walk and it has a lot of species of animals you can learn about. It has a good dolphin show, and although the route is not very long, it's worth a visit if you are traveling to the city.
