The coast of Foz has a charm and personality that other more accessible areas don't have - with over 15 kilometers of coastline, beaches of fine sand and clear waters. The beaches are equipped with all the amenities. The beaches are overflowing in summer, but there are hidden coves that invite you to relax.
Playa de las Catedrales (Cathedrals beach) is in the province of Lugo Ribadeo and is considered to be the most beautiful beach of Spain, a prodigy of nature. To visit you must consult the tide times, they are so large that at high tide the beach disappears and you can only see rocks, I certainly recommend it for its beauty, it is unique.
Not as famous as the beach of the Cathedrals, but very good! Pampillosa Beach is located in the Fazouro, is 170 meters long and about 100 meters wide. It has ample parking, showers, restrooms, health care, parks, etc ... Besides, this beach is protected by two rock masses, so there are less waves than usual. This beach has been awarded the Blue Flag, as one of the best Spanish beaches.
Going along the road to Burela on the right there's an idyllic view of a white sandy beach and the blue-green sea, very clean, get closer and it impresses you more, like the very Caribbean! It is worth taking a walk.
One of the most beautiful and enjoyable places to know, its charm is in the combination of sea and countryside, beautiful beaches and forests in which you can literally lose yourself, also it is surrounded by beautiful villages.
Cuisine, spectacular beaches, cliffs, historic sites, great for fishing enthusiasts and those who enjoy water sports. A good place to rest, to heal our spirit .... and of course, parties to have fun. Theres something for everyone ... and whoever goes always goes back ...
On the coast, from Foz, there's a beautiful walking route that runs along the cliffs and passes through some of the best local beaches, such as Rapadoira. The trail is paved to O Cu de Castro, then it disappears and you have to make your own path, always on the edge of the cliffs, to reach Fazouro. There on a promontory the background is the sound of waves beating the walls of a cave and the remains of a lonely fort with excellent sea views. For some time I've been a regular customer of this local in Mariña Lucense. It has good treatment and good rock music in a better environment. Suitable for loners like me or for couples who want to enjoy somewhere pleasant.
The parish museum of St.Martin of Mondonedo is found in the city of Lugo. Installed on the grounds of the Basilica of St Martin of Mondoñedo, a temple which was the Episcopal Diocese of Mondoñedo from 870 until 1113. It is a unique work in the Galician Romanesque in which a clear influence from Asturias can be seen. It has religious objects among which you will find a XI century staff and a VII century gold ring which is given to the clergy to kiss the day of the feast of Don Gonzalo, character known as "Holy Bishop ".
