    Where to stay in Santiago

    Hotels in Santiago
    IberoRental hotel
The apartments are located in the Alsace a quiet street in the heart of El Golf, near restaurants and within walking distance of supermarkets, banks, metro, parks and the Golf Club- Lions. The apartments are ideally suited for medium to long term stays and for business people. It is in a largely residential area, with lots to do such as shopping and dining, and is certainly in one of the safest areas around Santiago. It is very near Isidora Goyenechea avenidad near the main building, which has numerous restaurants and bars. Paeople say that it has the best atmosphere in Santiago!

    Hotel Plaza Londres
At the bottom of the Plaza de Londres you'll find this establishment, which offers services beyond the basic hostel packages. Room rates: space in a hostel room goes for $20, and a single costs $40. Prices go up to $83 for a room for four people. There's a kitchen area, with internet and breakfast included. It's in a very quiet area with no noise. The decor is really rather basic and no-frills, but it's a good place to rest.

    Bellavista Hostels
I regret not having made a comment about this earlier, as I really think it's the best place to stay in Santiago. The staff are friendly, and it has a kitchen, a TV room, a living room, and two rooftop terraces where you can interact with the other customers. It's located in Bellavista, one of the most popular parts of the city. Take a room that doesn't face the street, as it can get quite noise. Highly recommended.

    Hotel Riviera
It is centric and in front of the Cerro Santa Lucia, four blocks from the Plaza de Armas, three blocks from the Palace de La Moneda. One block away is the Santa Lucia metro station. Good service with comfortable rooms and internet free of charge. Double room with breakfast was 48$. very recomendable.

    Happy House Hostel
When we were all in Santiago we stayed at this hostel. It has both private rooms with their own bathrooms and others which don't, but you still sleep. It is very well located since it's near the center of Santiago and a few blocks from the Metro station "Los Heroes". A selling point for this hostel is the design of all its facilities and yard. A con is the breakfast which came with the room with private bath was supposedly free but was very bad. When there was juice the glasses were not there and vice versa. They didn't have coffee either, but if they did it probably would have been instant coffee and not the same. In addition, the prices were too high to be a hostel, so I think if I were to return I would look for another hostel in Santiago. However, I admit that the atmosphere was very striking and very spacious.

Sheraton Santiago Hotel & Convention Center
The luxurious Sheraton Santiago Hotel and Convention Center is located in a quiet residential area and within walking distance from the main attractions and shopping areas. It is an ideal choice for business travelers as well as for leisure. They have facilities for large social events as well as conventions. There is an indoor heated swimming pool as well as outdoor, there all kinds of services at your disposal and a leading international restaurant to enjoy dining at.

    Ibis Santiago Providencia hotel
The Ibis Santiago Providencia Hotel is located a few steps from the central bus station, and one of the first buildings you'll see once your arrive in Santiago. We had just arrived and given Santiago's reputation for being unsafe at night, we went ahead and got a room here (cost: 35,000 pesos, or about 50.00 euro). The rooms are nice and quiet and they TV has about a million channels. Breakfast is charged separately (3,000 pesos), but overall it was a pleasant stay.
    Hotels in Santiago
    Blue Tree Hotel
The Blue Tree hotel is a real oasis in Santiago, comprising several buildings in one of the most beautiful streets in the Chilean capital. The entire hotel is arranged so that the modern, and the old, mingle together in an atmosphere of perfect tranquility. Of course, luxury comes at a price, and it costs about 124 dollars for a double room, or 115 for a single. Highly recommended if it's in your price range!

    Hogar de Cristo
You never know what can happen on a journey ... in our case, we found ourselves with no money in a foreign country! Luckily, in Santiago you can spend a night in the "Hogar de Cristo", which is a homeless shelter. A night costs from 0 to 200 Chilean pesos (up to $0.15), and you have a shared room with the city's homeless. You eat and shower with them - a truly humbling experience. Don't fear discomfort or illness. A good choice in case of emergency.
    Hotels in Santiago
    The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago
The Ritz-Carlton Santiago Hotel is located in the financial center of the city of Santiago de Chile, in the Metropolitan area. It has 205 rooms elegantly furnished and equipped for your comfort and overlooks the Andes mountain-range. it has 52 superior rooms and 15 suites of the highest class. It offers a Mediterranean restaurant, bar, health center and proximity to downtown and major attractions.
    Hotels in Santiago
    Hotel Vegas
This hotel gives the impression of being too big for its ambitions. The poorly-lit rooms overlook a parking lot, and it costs 42 dollars (31 euros) for a single, up to 65 dollars (48 euros) for a room for four. Very shoddy decor.
    Hotels in Santiago
    Hotel Las Hortensias
The Las Hortensias is located in the Providencia neighborhood in Santiago, near the center, near the Metro and several important touristic points. When I was in Santiago, I stayed here and I liked it a lot, because it has very good service, 24 hour reception, and is in a very pleasant and nice neighbourhood. The rooms are spacious, and equipped with heating. This site is perfect for the Chilean winter.

    Aji Hostel
One of the best hostels I've stayed in. It has rooms for every taste and budget and it's located in a very quiet part of the city, but it's still really well connected to the must-see tourist attractions. They offer everything a tourist could possibly need at reasonable prices during reasonable times of day (they even held onto a package for me while I was traveling in South America for three months). They have some attractive discounts for the ISIC card, or for stays longer than 5 days. But the most stand-out thing about this hostel is the friendly treatment, from all the staff, and from the owners. They really make you feel at home. Also there to orient and help you with respect to what to do in the city and practically the whole country, they give you a lot of brochures and information so you can move around as you please within all of the little hideaways, not just the well-known places. Furthermore, they organize various weekly "events" like a free pasta night on Wednesdays, sour pisco on Thursdays and an awesome barbeque on Fridays (all free). Also, you have access to their terrace to have little get togethers of your own.

    Hostel la Casa Roja
The Red House is my favourite hostel, because I've made many friends there. The house is huge, with spacious and comfortable rooms. The kitchen is also very large, with several stoves, refrigerators and more. It has a huge garden, pool, jacuzzi, bar and more. The staff are friendly, and will make you feel at home. Highly recommended.
    Youth Hostels in Santiago
    Princesa Insolente Hostel
This hostel was created with women in mind (hence the name), and is now known as the best hostel in Santiago. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. The building has several common areas, where it's easily to make friends with the other tourists, and you can have a drink together. The price is very good, and breakfast is included.
    Hotels in Santiago
    Hotel Orly
The Hotel Orly is highly recommended by all travel sites, and for good reason - it offers optimum value for money. For starters, it's in the Providencia neighbourhood, the perfect place for tourists, with plenty of options in terms of shopping, bars and restaurants. It's close to the centre and various attractions, as well as the metro network. Another advantage of the Orly is its charm: the hotel has a cozy feel, with a glazed winter garden in the breakfast area, and free coffee throughout the day. The queen rooms are super comfortable, with excellent beds; some of them also have balconies offering beautiful views. The bathrooms are very spacious, equipped with heating - very important for anyone travelling in the winter. The hotel offers free wifi and two computers available to the guests. There's a cafe on the ground floor, as well as room service. The price of all this is between $ 120 (single), and $ 165 (junior suite).

    Vila Franca Petit Hotel
It is known for looking like a grandfather's home, which is the family atmosphere that Vila Franca Petit Hotel offers. Undoubtedly one of the best places in Santiago, close to the metro station Pedro de Valdivia and the famous Astrid and Gaston restaurant (you can walk peacefully), in addition, the rooms are very nice, although a little small , but it has heating (which counts for a lot in the icy Santiago). The employees of Villa Franca, Gloria, are very friendly, and take care of all the details so the guests feel at home.
