Situated just 3 blocks from the Plaza Mayor. The hotel has two buildings facing each other, just across the cobbled street. It has 77 rooms, decorated in colonial style and quite big. Upon entering the hotel at the reception there is a very nice fountain, always adorned with flowers, and we must also highlight the pool area. It has a very cozy atmosphere for its guests to enjoy.
It was a nice experience to have been a few days at Casa Santo Domingo!! The service is excellent and the rooms are super cute .. They have a minibar, and a nice view of a beautiful garden, the museum is an attraction where many people come to visit. I still remember those beautiful moments that happened when I visit the page: http://www.Casasantodomingo.Com. This is where I was able to choose my room and it was beautiful!
This hostel is situated in the heart of Antigua but in a fairly quiet street, is the perfect place to rest. A very affordable -5 euros-we had a double room with breakfast included and free internet. The hostel also organizes tours to the nearby volcanoes, has a minibus service to the main destinations in Guatemala and adjacent places. It is usually pretty crowded, so a reservation is recommended. Anyway there are three hostels within twenty meters that also are also very good looking and with similar characteristics. The rooms are simple but very clean. If you can choose to ask the lady for an upstairs room, completely made of wood and with a view to Antigua and the volcanoes. We stayed in one of them and it was amazing. Probably the best place to sleep throughout Guatemala. The windows have screens, you can use the kitchen and drinking water is free. What more could you want! I completely recommend this place to visitors to Antigua.
We recently traveled for 3 weeks to Guatemala, and we were surprised by all the beautiful things we saw. The capital is like all the cities in the continent (not worth spending much time there) . We went to Petén to visit the ruins of Tikal (we went by plane because the overland journey lasted 8 hours). The place is breathtaking in its grandeur and majesty, perhaps the magic of the place is that the ruins in the jungle. Then we went to Antigua because they recommended this as the main city of the country for its colonial ambience and tranquility, and Antigua was magical, it was our center to visit other nearby towns and Lake Atitlan and Chichicastenango. In Antigua we decided to have a closer experience with Guatemalan culture and stayed with a local family who rented rooms to foreigners for a good price with food and took care of us. THeir email is hospedajeenfamilia@yahoo.Com, In Antigua there are many options to eat and no problem to travel safely from one place to another place. .
This place is a safe condominium where you have rent a divine room on the upper floor of the loft. It has been recently refurnished with two queen beds, a private bathroom, a terrace with a chiminea, all in the colonial style. The room has wifi, cable tV and all the necessities. It is rented by day, week or month, minimum Q200 per night for two people, or 20 Euros with breakfast included. You are 5 minutes away from the center of ANtigua. Families are welcome because up to 4 people fit. The price is divided by week and month.
Really the Black Cat Inn is a great choice to stay in Antigua. You can choose to stay in a dorm (about 6 euros), or in a single room with a bath and television (about 15, 25 and 39 euros). For those staying in dorms, there is a TV lounge available to everyone. The good thing about the place is that the room price includes an excellent breakfast where you can choose from the menu of the place: something really impressive because the dishes are hearty and tasty. Finally, since normally a breakfast is worth 3 euros, the place is a bargain! You can also have your clothes washed for 3 euros (I have not found cheaper still in Antigua), and as you guessed there is a bar and restaurant, with a nice garden and a terrace overlooking the rooftops ... But do not worry, the bar closes at 10pm so that guests can relax! You can book by email: Blackcatinnantigua@gmail.Com (no capitals)
