The truth it’s always a joy to stay in a Parador, because they are usually charming hotels, located in historic buildings.
Specifically, the one in Lerma is found in the emblematic Ducal Palace, built in the sixteenth century in the Plaza Mayor. It is a four star hotel and has 70 rooms, plus restaurant, cafe and three halls for conferences or meetings.
The decor is in line with the parador chain, although in this case I found it a bit drab, maybe because our room was very large ... it was a double room with two beds, but we also had two living areas, a two seated sofa at the entrance, and a small round table with two chairs next to the balcony, from which there were spectacular views of the Arlanza alluvial plain (other rooms have views over the huge Plaza Mayor).
Beside the couch was a desk and a table where the TV sat (too small for the size of the room). The furnishings were rustic, blending wood with wrought iron, wicker and glass, but in so much space, they seemed scant, even though we had everything we needed.
The rustic tiled flooring gave a certain cold appearance. The bathroom which was also huge, had two zones, one where the vanity area is found (two sinks embedded in a marble countertop, a huge wall to wall mirror as well as magnifying mirror) and bath (with shower screen), and another separate with the toilets (bidet and w.c).
It looked completely remodelled, all brand new. It was very bright, and we were given a full range of amenities. We did not get breakfast, nor try the restaurant, which was located in the old palace stables. We only had something in the cafeteria, which is worth visiting being that it is in the cloister and the atmosphere is very welcoming.
Even if you do not stay at the hotel, it is open to the public. I was only there one night, but knowing that you’re sleeping in the same place Philip III and his court once rested has a certain charm. In addition, the location is unbeatable, in the heart of Old Town.
Very good hotel
A very interesting hotel, not the typical old types in the city centre, nor the modern type in the suburbs. the typical old in central cities. It has a good mix, spacious, modern, adjoining sitting room, modern bathroom with enough utensils and modern hall with stone walls and in corners "bahules". They also have wifi in the room. The worst thing is the very narrow parking, you scrape the underside of your car and the columns are very narrow. Also note the location, in the heart of Burgos and close to everything.
I often stay at this hotel when I am in Burgos, as I think it is very good value for money (circa 60 € / night, double room). It is in an excellent location in a quiet area and also next to the historic centre. It is found across the river (cross the bridge that faces the Arc Fernan Gonzalez) and a stones throw from the bus station. It is a 4 star hotel and has 84 rooms, a restaurant, cafe and party room (in the basement). The rooms are quite spacious, very clean and in perfect condition. The furniture imitates the old colonial style, with pickled wood, wrought iron headboards with a canopy species ... Of course all rooms have the usual necessities: bed, cupboard, desk, minibar, satellite television, free WiFi, safe, AC with individual climate control in each room, and a living area with a low table and two armchairs upholstered. Also there is a kind of "parlor" on the terrace, which was covered (it's a great place for breakfast, overlooking the Cathedral). The bathroom is also spacious, with bath (in some cases tub), hair dryer, magnifying mirror and a range of amenities. The hotel is a multi-storey building of traditional construction, but the decor of the public areas is rather old, which contrasts the other modern elements. The bar is spacious and by the reception. It has deep red walls, huge armchairs, large boxes with heavy frames, but contrasts with a skylight in the roof, with crystals of all kinds of colours that give it a more contemporary look. There is a garage (the street is the blue area plus there usually aren't many parking spaces), but I tend to leave the car in the underground car park of the Plaza de Vega (back street). The hotel usually holds events and weddings, as it has a large living room in the basement with a party room for up to 600 people.
Hotel with charm
Very well located, only 5 minutes from the Plaza Mayor in Burgos and right in the drinking area (near San Juan Street). It offers free Wi-Fi plus other offers for weekends and pilgrims. The breakfast buffet is served in a room next to the reception and it is not to be taken lightly; they serve varied assortment to start the day. Staff have very good relationship with customers and will assist you in everything you want. There is no parking, but there are two car parks nearby.
Located in the city center, along the river Arlanzón, opposite the Cathedral, Arco de Santa Maria and Spur Ride. With a careful restoration, has a privileged location, well connected to everything you need in the city. In the latest restaurant guide I read, this hotel, aside from its 4 stars, had the highest rated restaurant in the entire city (even better that Ojeda, believe it or not!)
AC Hotel Burgos is located in the historic center of Burgos. It is just a few minutes from the Arc and five minutes from the Cathedral. It is a modern hotel with good service and it's not expensive. Looks like it has been renovated fairly recently, because it looks very new and cared for.

All come equipped with the best amenities that the client could need, always seeking to offer an unforgettable stay. The hotel offers its guests many services: cafeteria, restaurant, room service, 24 hour reception, garage, safe, laundry ... The hotel is a few minutes walk from St. Nicholas or San Lesmes Church. Almirante Bonifaz Hotel is located in Burgos city centre. It has a total of 79 rooms and 19 apartments equipped with bathroom, direct dial telephone, music, satellite TV or cable TV, internet connection, minibar, air conditioning and safes. The place has a bar, restaurant, games room, medical service, internet and garage.
This place, in the center of Burgos, is at a great location, good quality, and good price. Only 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral and the Museum of Human Evolution, easy to get, have parking. The daily menu is pretty good for 15 €, is quite complete. They also have dinners and events and several groups. One of the hotels that you can stay in forever in Burgos.
The New Arlanza hotel is in the center of the town in Burgos, Covarrubias, specifically in the Plaza Doña Urraca number 11.
It has traditional Castilian architecture, with wooden beams and a stone structure. It has 45 rooms and are all equipped with bathrooms, heating, air conditioning, plasma TV and wi-fi.
One of the things that is more well-known is the hotel's restaurant. It has a capacity for over 100 people and serves the traditional local gastronomy.
I went to one of the Medieval Dinners organized by the hotel, which includes a theater and a medieval dinner.
We stayed in Burgos in February 2013 and stayed in two hotels that were similarly priced, but one was significantly better. The pool was great with hours from 08:00 to 23:00 you can relax between the end of the day of visit and your preparation for the night.
