Atlantico Botanical Garden
The Botanic Garden is one of the places that I like best in my city, Gijón. It covers an area of about 25 hectares, encompassing the historic garden of the island, including some trees up to 300 years old. It consists of several separate areas with a special emphasis on the Atlantic Arc, but also the historic Garden Island. Along the walk you can find beech, birch, laurel trees etc. One of its advantages is that you can get there easily, 3 bus lines stop at the entrance. It is opposite the Technical College. The title is so named because of the feelings I experience when coming here. The last time I was here I walked around on a Saturday in January until dawn.
And despite the rain, the rays of sun breaking through and the vegetation make it magical. Whenever I can, I try to visit. The worst time, because of the influx of people, is late June and July. It is open all year, except on Mondays. And certain dates are Open Days, which always attract people. In 2013, it celebrates its tenth anniversary.
