Ghost Town

This is one of those places where the experience is heightened by your imagination and research.

The mining town of Bodie had a population of thousands, reaching its zenith at the turn of the century. As the mine was depleted, the population slowly left, and by the mid 40's, only had a few inhabitants. The feeling of abandonment and failure is evident in this photograph, as only a few structures are left .
