Crosby Beach

The light can be quite incredible over our local beach, and when the tide goes out in the evening, the water runnels create some unbelievable patters. Anthony Gormley's iron men on the beach always seem to be a kind of sentinel guarding our shore. Mr Gormley's sculptures are known collectively as 'Another Place'.

Wet day as on a hot summer night watching the sunset, this is a great place to get away from it. I run and bike here, and knowing the many ships that have sailed and steamed past over the centuries, I like to imagine the people heading to 'another place'.
