Tynemouth, King Edwards Bay

Near the ruins of the Castle and Priory Tynemouth this place cabe found among the rocks and cliffs of that small beach, which is part of a bay that opens up to the north sea, known as King Edward Bay. The name comes after King Edward II came to stay here, he was the king that settled in this area to control the development of the war against the Scots (led by King Robert I or Robert the Bruce), which would lead to defeat England in the fields of Bannockburn in 1314. The royal apartments have views and access to the beach, where it is said that the king used to walk. To get to the beach there is a set of stairs.
