Famous sites

Empoli is a required stop if you are going by train from Pisa to Siena, this is where change trains. A population of about 6,000, located in the province of Florence in the Tuscany region, it is about 30 km southwest from Florence. There is La Piazza Farinata degli Uberti aka Plaza de los Leones, which in it's center has a fountain dating back to 1827 and was the work of Luigi Pampaloni. The Collegiate Church of Saint Andrea, is the most well-known monument here. The Palazzo Ghibellino is an ancient palace of the Count Guidi. It's believed to have been built in the 11th century. It was restored in the 16th century and the restoration left very little of the original palace.
