A Beautiful Square

I took this photo years ago when on student exchange to Italy. It was the first time I'd left Spain and it was an amazing experience. I visited many cities throughout Tuscany and one was Empoli. The Piazza Farinata degli Uberti, also known as Plaza de los Leones, has a fountain in the centre dating back to 1827 and is the work of Luigi Pampaloni. The Collegiate Church of St. Andrea, his best-known monument is also located in this square. It is thought that the church already existed in the 5th century AD. And it was mentioned in a papal bull of 1059.
