A great experience
In this region of Romania, bounded by the Carpathian mountains, you'll find a people called the Szeklers. They came from Central Asia and claim to be descendants of the Huns. They speak a language that is similar to the Hungarians, and have preserved their traditions as well, limiting the mixtures with the Romanians to a minimum. We got to Batanii Mari during a festival day.
People were limited in their communication abilities, and did not know if it was a wedding, a party to celebrate the end-of-summer crops, or something else. But we liked the costumes, both of the men and the women.
