A magical spot in the heart of Venice Florida
El Campo della Maddalena in the Cannaregio district is a beautiful place near one of the main streets in this area, Rio Terà della Maddalena. There lies a main example of neoclassical architecture - the Venetian Santa Maria Maddalena church, better known as La Maddalena. This church is one of the most beloved by Venetians, especially on the day when Santa Maddalena commemorates the signing of the peace between the Republics of Genoa and Venice in 1356. Another unique building in this square is the palace where poet Innocente Giuseppe Lanza (1893-1963) founded the Societa Lunatica Benefica.
