1 review of Friend Street Hostel

Small hostel in Boston, good location

If you’re looking for affordable accommodations in Boston, Friend Street is slightly cheaper than the HI in this city. It is situated in a convenient area, just a short walk away from the TD Garden and train stations. It’s also walking distance to bars and to historic sights.

To get to the hostel, you have to climb a whole bunch of stairs. There is no elevator (at least none that were apparent), so those in wheelchairs will want to look elsewhere for accommodations. The people I encountered at the front desk were so nice! The common area is a bit on the small side, but that’s great in terms of meeting people. The kitchen only has a microwave so you can’t really cook food. Rooms have lockers and the beds are awesome. Why? Because they don’t squeak (that) much!

Some nice things about the hostel include complimentary breakfast in the cafe downstairs. The cafe itself (Friend Street Cafe) has an inviting, relaxing vibe and has affordable food (which is great if you’re a budget traveler).
