Hokokuji Temple

This temple is also called Takedera (Bamboo Temple) and is less famous than others such as Hasedera or Tsurugaoka Hachimangu but does not have anything to envy. It is a lovely temple between a high and dense bamboo forest. It is surrounded by mountains with caves dedicated to several deities and where we can find votive sculptures. They also have a small tea ceremony. Weather permitting, where they take Peudada outdoors under an umbrella next to the Japanese Red Bamboo: an EXPERIENCE. It was constructed in the year 1334 by Ashikaga Ietoki. Entrance is free of charge but if you want to access the bamboo forest you have to pay 200 yen because it is the best part of the visit.
