Pelourinho de Alcácima

This pelourinho, located on the hilltop of Alcácima between the chapel and the viewing point, recalls the existence in this place TAROUCA medieval castle, now disappeared. It is a robust high granite column rounded and culminated in a cross. In the shaft appears carved a large coat of arms with a sword. At his feet is the massive shield TAROUCA city made of small mosaics, whose large size and position allows be visible from anywhere in the city.
