Pakhuis Restaurant
The Pakhuis is an equally or more interesting for its architecture as for its food. In a building with wrought iron windows to let in natural light, diners are spread over two floors and a terrace that allows smoking. The food, typically Belgian, includes dishes like mussels and fries, delicious. They come in a big pot.

Taberna Brasserie Bridge
(5)
The Bridge Brasserie Tavern is one of the most famous and recommended restaurants in Ghent. It's in Sint-Baafsplein Square, next to the Cathedral and the NTG Dutch theatre. It's not very big, but it has a very nice terrace on the square. Its varied menu is based on typical Belgian cuisine, so to inaugurate my first day in Flanders, I couldn't resist trying the famous mussels and fries. The mussel season is from July to February, and you can have them with white wine and celery, or with garlic and cream. I ordered mine with white wine and I was surprised when they brought me a 1 kilogram pot of mussels, and a large plate of crispy chips with two kinds of sauces (pink and mayonnaise). It was impossible to finish it all, so there's no need to order an appetizer. They also have pasta, toast, salads, meat and fish. It's not cheap, about 18-20€/plate, but keep in mind that it's in one of the most touristy places of the city. They also have menus from € 22.

Puente de San Miguel Restaurant
From the center, and just inside the bridge of San Miguel, there is the best view of St. Bavo, the ancient guild houses are on the right. You have to see the sunset in this classic and magnificent restaurant, therefore, you must get a table near one of the large windows so that you don't miss the show. The restaurant is ornate, with a profusion of ornaments and candles, the food is plentiful, no great wonder, but the location is outstanding. I could not find or remember the name of it, though a Flemish person would know, however, with these instructions and the photos that I have attached, you can't miss it.

't Puntzakje
(1)
T'Puntzakje is a typical chip shop famous for its sausages and chips. The place is small, but has 2 floors: the ground floor which is occupied by the rod and the plate (where they make the food), and on the top floor there is a small dining room. It is a fast food establishment where you can eat sandwiches, hot dogs, kebabs and burgers at a very cheap price. Although I am not a big fan of this kind of food, I have to admit it was very good, especially the fries because they were very crisp (something they are quite well known for.)

Brasserie de Foyer (NTGent)
La Brasserie De Foyer is on the first floor of the Dutch Theatre NTGent in the center of Sint-square Baafsplein . It is a good place to eat cheaply and in the center of the city (near the Cathedral). The lunch menu costs € 13,50. I was there on a Sunday morning, as they offer a buffet brunch with a very varied and delicious menu. Worth looking into for a drink at the Brasserie De Foyer, not only for its food but also for visiting the theater. Furthermore, from the terracethere are spectacular views of the Belfort and the Cathedral.
