This restaurant is hidden on a dead-end street just seconds away from the crowds at Ponte Vecchio. Everything on the menu is typical Tuscan food and the lunch menu is a bargain (7 euros), and the Florentine steak is only 10 euros.
It is one of the most romantic restaurants I have ever been. The décor is very rural, rustic mirrors and wine bottles adorning the walls. His specialty, as is known in Florence is meat and pasta. To accompany the meal I recommend a good bottle of wine from Tuscany. The restaurant is not expensive, it costs about 22 € per person for dinner. It has a good location and you can find it right next to the Piazza S Maria Novella. Try it, you will like it.
If you're lovers of all the pasta and fine wine that Florence can offer you, I would definitely recommend this restaurant, without a doubt. This restaurant offers a wide variety of Italian dishes and wine. Actually, it's also a wine cellar. If you're a rice lover I highly recommend the sea rice, and if you're still not convinced, look how delicious it looks in the pictures. Exquisite! It's close to Santa Croce, centrally located, and it's an ideal place for dinner. Florence is very compact, so you'll also be close to the good bars and this restaurant offers a nice dinner for around 20 euros, more or less.
I eat with my two children and my wife, which means that we don't have to share a table. Everything is as they said and as I already thought. The place is difficult to find even when you're at the door. The line of people waiting may seem to go on forever but in the end it is short. You have to visit. The highlight is the service friendly, anywhere else with this amount of customers they would be miserable, but here they have a permanent smile
On my visit to Florence (Italy) a friend recommended the Ristorante Ciro & Sons. We went there for dinner one night and loved it. It is a welcoming place, with frescoes on the walls, and the room, although small, is well-decorated. The service is good, and prices aren't too bad. It has a lovely outside terrace, and is right in the city centre. If you're in Florence and want a romantic restaurant, this is the perfect spot.
For our visit to Florence we downloaded the minube guide for the iPad and what better way to let us eat incredible food recommended by some of the travelers whose experiences we read. In the end, because of the circumstances of the route taken, the best was this: Trattoria l'raddi.
Upon arrival there were people in the street waiting for their turn and we got through pretty quickly, and yet we were told at max. we'd have to wait 20 minutes to eat, so we put our name in ... Good decision. After waiting a while we decided to leave, but then we saw the beautiful bartender ve came to get us. It was about time! But we had only 15 minutes to eat because we missed the bus and then we weren't sure whether it was worth it. She assured us they were fast and we believed it. The best thing we did. We shared some crostini (2 people), some tagliatelle, a roast beef with potatoes, bread and a pint of wine. Everything was very tasty (table wine) and, as we were assured, were served in 15 minutes and stuffed. But the best was yet to come. When we got up to pay the bill, turned out everything was only € 10 in total! (On the lunch menu every dish costs 2 € and on top of it it's delicious. Might seem like a joke but it's not.) In short ... Speed, quality, service and an unbeatable price. A victory in the making.
Of all the restaurants we visited in Florence, I will definitely return to this Trattoria, located on Via Tornabuoni, one of the most exclusive streets in the city. It is a very cozy, with two dining rooms and decorated like a Tuscan kitchen. The lighting and music create a pleasant atmosphere. Despite being always busy, even on weekdays (mostly with locals), waiters work very quickly. If you arrive and it is full, you are given a number and in less than 20 minutes you have a table. The menu is extensive but the highlights are the seafood risotto with very tasty seafood, and "La Bufala 250", a caprese salad with a piece of 250 gram buffalo mozzarella. In the pictures you can see the great salad and all it's ingredients. Needless to say we went back another day, we just could not say goodbye to Florence without ever eating that salad again! And to dress it, an excellent Italian oil and vinegar which was one of the ones I liked the most out of the ones we tried: The Aceto Balsamico di Modena Mazzetti l'Originale.
There were five of us looking for a "good, nice and cheap" place when we found this spot, and it was just what we expected: good home cooking at a good price. Neither a "trattoria", nor a restaurant, rather a bar that serves pastries with delicious home-made food. We had a first course of pasta (there is plenty of pasta and sauces) and main course (meat, fish ...), drink and "pastizzis" for dessert (delicious), we paid about 13 euros per person. I must highlight the service provided by the owner (I think was the owner), very polite and nice, also treated us to a yummy shot of homemade limoncello. We left very happy :) It's very close to Palazzo Pitti, and the best part about it for us Spaniards was that they don't seem to have a kitchen schedule like im most places. We went in at 4 or so without a problem.
It was quite an experience dining at the Trattoria Cibreo (careful, not to be confused with Café Cibrèo which is next to it and is three times more expensive). In the trattoria, tables cannot be reserved and it is quite small. You arrive, you ask for a table, and if it is possible, you usually end up sharing a table with other people ve you do not know at all. This is part of the charm. In our case, we ended up having dinner with a very fun and interesting couple: Czech anthropologists ve did not speak English or Italian. Can you imagine the conversation?
As much as you insist on reading and understanding the menu, do not stress. Your waiter will broadcast it for you completely and in great detail. He will sit down with you at the table and, I'm not exaggerating, he will take more than five minutes to explain everything in Spanish! Very handy! Something interesting is that there was everything on the menu, except pasta! Of course, we ate what he recommended, most of which were local dishes: one very rich mozzarella and mushroom soup, chicken meatballs, homemade desserts... Do not miss it! It is a classic in Firenze.
We fell into this restaurant by chance, it read "Wine Bar" and it's a tiny place near the Duomo di Firenze. What we saw from outside said "eat me" so we entered. Sometimes we didn't understand much of the menu and it was a great advantage because we asked - and they always serve you well. The "roll" was stuffed with mozzarella, prosciuto and pesto sauce. A final curiosity, the site had no kitchen.
They say it's easy to eat well in Italy, but in fact finding homemade food of good quality, with an extensive menu of pasta, starters and fiorentina steak isn't the simplest thing in the world. But this trattoria, near the palace, makes it possible. All great, good value, in a lovely Italian atmosphere.
In this region is a precious treasure: the truffle. In this, as in other places, you can taste pasta (spaghetti or pizza) to the tartufo. One of the best pizzas and spaghetti I've ever eaten in my life. The pizza is accompanied with such an extraordinary mixture of flavors combined with fresh arugula leaves, I'm still savoring it.
I came to this ice cream shop on the recommendation of Lorenzo de Medici, ve said in his guide to Florence th ice-cream shop in town. I struggled to find it because it is off the usual tourist streets and one side opens onto a square. It's a bit far, but as the city is not very big you can walk there in 10-15 minutes. If it weren't so famous, only Florentines would go there and although foreigners come by chance (at least outside of the summer), the employees still smile when they see us look on at the many flavors. The décor is very classical, with pictures showing the most typical sights of Florence. Upon arrival, you must pay the owner, ve is sitting in front of an old cash register. Already with the ticket in your hand, you can then visit the exhibitor and ask the waitress for your favorite flavor or flavors. Tables are available to customers at no extra cost. If you can't decide, it is better to go with the milky ice-cream, which is less cold and the most different to those you find in Spain. Without doubt, the tiramisu and meringue are amazing!
I remember it took us a long time to find this restaurant which was between streets, also it was late and we were starving, but we found it, this restaurant-enoteca was a vision of it's time, and there is still something about the atmosphere. The house specialty is pasta stuffed with cheese and pear, which is very good and homemade. The price is average, but in Florence treat yourself Find it because it's worth it.
This wine bar in the Grand Hotel Cavour in Florence is modern and cosmopolitan. With its high ceilings it is located in a eighteenth century palace. It is known for its cocktails and afternoon DJ sessions. Even during the week it is very busy during the afternoons. Located in the heart of Florence, between the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria.
This is a typical Italian restaurant where you can taste a good and typical Florentine meal and it's very well located, next to Piazza S Maria Novella. You can dine from the menu that is a clean and well presented. For lunch I recommend stuffed gnocchi and the house specialty (baked fish alla griglia). Bon appetit!
It's a little bit away from the downtown area, but it's not too bad, and in any case, the walk is very pleasant. There were only Italians inside, which inspired confidence, and we were right: it's great home cooking, high quality and not too pricey. Delicious: Bistecca for lunch (pictured) and Panna Cotta for dessert.
Encouraged by your comment I went to Il Paiolo for lunch on December 31st. There I found a place with tacky décor and paper napkins and tablecloths. First, I ordered a kind of artichoke pie, which was not great, but was acceptable. For the second plate we ordered potato tortelli, but they were all out, so we changed our order to tagliatele with ragu, which was a pretty skimpy and lacked flavor, the vegetable lasañetta, which was so-so, and finally the hard pasta and vegetables that were even harder. We didn't order dessert because we didn't want to experience the "wonder" it could've been.
