One of the most known by residents of Cancun, is the Pucito restaurant with its typical Yucatecan food, but this place is almost only local, it is rather an inn , but a classic to taste the best secrets of this ancient food. A small restaurant that started in London, England, with the guitar of Eric Clapton. It is 100% rock and roll hard-styled, with friendly service that is hard to believe. This is the ideal place to dine and have fun because there is no dress code, and the music is live and the place is comfortable. It has some of the best drinks that are served in the area and are not the typical reduced drinks that the hotels serve. The drinks are served in glasses shaped like a guitar, and this is a very good souvenir to show off to family and friends, and of course there is a gift shop but I but of course it's worth it to buy a shirt. I recommend the Hard Rock Cafe because it is an unforgettable experience.
Senor Frog's is a restaurant-bar chain and club, all in one, offering Mexican and international cuisine. At night it has an open bar at a fixed price and live music and DJ. Senor Frog's in Playa del Carmen was in an ideal location, just off the port of Playa. The food is quite tasty and I had a nice time looking at the sea, day and night. At night we went very near to the Day of the Dead so everything was decorated for the event.
Buhu's [Owl] is located in the north of the beautiful island, on the famous North Beach. Not smarter than a Palapas, but the facade is not important. A wonderful atmosphere, the best view of the Caribbean, it's not to clear ... There is Breakfast, lunch and dinner as Caribbean International style. But the famous bar has been rated the best beach bar in the world. This palapita, bar and restaurant has over 25 years running, this was one of the first bars in the place, it is like being in one of those movies where they take your gringo beer or a glass in your hammock while you fan aside mosquitoes. Something noteworthy is their lobster enchiladas, scrumptious and the best of it is that they are straight from the sea. In the evening you can enjoy the sunset on a beach chair with a good pina colada, as the sun bounces on Playa Norte.
In Xcaret there are four restaurants and we decided to try this one as we were in the mood for Mexican food. I had an enchilada, after the waiter commented that it was "for men" because it was so spicy. I ate one ..... in my life I have never eaten something so spicy and it took me a while to recover ... There is also a performance that you can enjoy from the table, to enjoy the show horse farm adjacent to the restaurant ...
Attractive waitresses in sexy uniforms, in a very American atmosphere, Hooters of Cancun will make you feel like you're in the USA. Located opposite the Coco Bongo club, it's the perfect place to have a drink after a day on the beach. The place is full of tourists soaking up the American atmosphere.
This is one of the most interesting restaurants I've been to in all the time that I have lived in Cancun, with a unique and relaxed concept, using phrases such as the names of the dishes, which makes it an unforgettable experience for all who visit this establishment located in the heart of the hotel area, next to one of the most emblematic malls and just where the nightclubs are. They specialize in Mexican food with a mix of international flavors and some local dishes. This restaurant is listed as a casual restaurant with entertainment, ranging from competitions and shows put on by the waiters themselves, to the bold shirt contests and wet bikini competitions . Its clientele focuses on young adults aged between 24 to 30 years, of course not excluding families, as they have a bar which is just as fun and great to start the evening in the nightclub area. The menu is unique, as it focuses on giving the food a home made touch, putting aside the sophisticated but maintaining the taste and tradition that characterizes true Mexican cuisine. Madrazo Fish served on a bed of spinach and cream is my personal favorite, although the guests I've usually gone with prefer the fillet Bull Shoot, which is nothing more than a juicy angus steak, set alight at your table with a vodka sauce and a little Spanish sauce. Although their menu has over 200 dishes, in my opinion these are the ones that over shadow the rest, including a delicious tortilla soup which is well known in Mexico. Of course, you can not miss the distinctive "cava" of Mexican and international beers, and although they have a good selection of wine, honestly most people that eat there prefer beer or tequila shots. This place is definitely one of my favorites and I visit it fortnightly or when there is an NFL game for my interest, as they offer a snack that includes 8 different Mexican dishes and beer. Do not miss this famous restaurant group belonging to Anderson.
The La Adelita restaurant is based on Mexican cuisine, and as we were going to Mexico we had to try some typical and characteristic food, right? It was not a sincere restaurants that we like, but hey it was pretty good. Only open for dinner from 17.30 to 22.30, without the need for prior reservation and in our case we had 8 people and waited half an hour until we got seated - it was busy that particular day. Like the rest of the Palladium chain restaurants the first course was cold soups and salads from their salad buffet. There were a few main dishes to choose from and this time what I had was the best chose hehehe ... I recommend the fish fillet with a peanut crust, on a bed of mashed potatoes and zucchini and coriander (delicious, I assure you!). As for the rest I tried everything: Burritos northern beef or chicken, shrimp margarita tequila, tacos al pastor, etc. Desserts like in all the restaurants were all delicious: 3 leches cake, apple pie a la mexicana, various ice creams, chocolate cake, etc. At the entrance/exit of the restaurant (just before the salad buffet) there were different "Mexican" dress up objects: typical straw hats, mariachi hats, tequila bottles, guitars, carabiners, etc. And the truth is that we had a great time dressing up for photos, creating some of the most original hehehe ...
Lorenzillos is known both by locals and tourists as being the best seafood restaurant in Cancun. It has it all - a different, romantic atmosphere, the best service and the freshest seafood, making this restaurant a classic. You can enjoy dinner under the light of the moon at your table situated right on the shore of the Nichupte lagoon. There are mixed aromas of fresh seafood with the smell of the sea and the lagoon which offers a unique experience for sure. The lobsters are fresh and you can choose yours while it´s still alive and then you choose the kind of salsa that you want from traditional garlic butter to exotic coconut combinations. As expected, prices are high but worth it and if you are a local, there are sometimes promotions and discounts to help you save a little money and be able to visit this delicious palace of delicacies. Undoubtedly one of the best in Cancun.
This restaurant is situated in the shopping center La Isla in front of the lagoon from which there are some great views. It's in a pretty noisy area, but it is a nice place in a good location. It has a wide variety of types of beer and the pizza and pasta were really good. The waiters were kind, even though like the rest of Mexico they work for tips, it was more than that, if you don't tip them, they ask for it even though it's your decision whether you tip them or not. It's interesting, but here's where it gets its name- they write phrases and reflections on chalkboards throughout the restaurant.
In Playa Pescadores there are several bars but I want to point out Adelita Bar. After visiting the ruins and the heat it is nice to just lay down on a hammock. They serve cocktails and the mojitos are really great, and you can have different dishes, nachos, fajitas, tuna, and it was all so good! You will also be accompanied by great music and the staff ... the best, 10.
The restaurant was specializes in Italian food and was one of the 9 themed restaurants that was inside the resort Palladium Riviera Maya Resort & Spa, which belongs to the Grand Palladium White Sand. Like the rest of the a la carte restaurants, the service was only dinner and opening hours are from 17.30 to 22.30, and best of all is that because reservations were not taken, we did not need to do anything other than show up in front of the head waiter, who told us if we could go to dinner at that time or the estimated wait time. It was exactly the same as that of the other restaurants that were a la carte or themed: The 1st course was based on a salad bar or you had the choice between 3 soups, while the main course and dessert were the only dishes you could choose. 2nd choices were varied from pizza (seafood, ham and mushrooms, etc ...), pasta (spaghetti, ravioli, fettuccine, etc ...), salmon and mushroom risotto, beef lasagna, beef tenderloin, chicken or prawns D'Angello Frangelico. Their desserts were tasty: Tiramisu, Italian cheese Bavarian, chocolate cake, hazelnut mousse (semi-cold), Bella Italia (cold) or frozen fruit. The truth is that everything would have been perfect if the food wasn´t brought out so slow, as it took a while for the dessert ... Since you sit down and they bring the menu, until you are served drinks a lot of time passes. Horrible!! This was where we waited longer, we arrived at 22:00 and we left at about 00.30 hours ie 2 hours for dinner that should have lasted at most 1 hour.
Tikal restaurant belongs to the Grand Palladium Kantenah. The buffet service was only for breakfast (07.00 to 10.00 hours) and dinner (from 18.00 to 22.00 hours), and remains closed at dinner time, although in closed season breakfast is at 11.00 hours and dinner at 22.30. The La Hacienda restaurant had a buffet with a much more broad and extensive menu, but were similar: A griddle to prepare different breakfast omelettes or fried eggs and fish or meat dinners . A lot of breakfast pastries, but only one person preparing grilled waffles and crepes, the rest is like hot food (beans, bacon, sausages, sausages, mushrooms, etc ...), juices prepared in the blender , etc ... There was buffet theme dinners everyday, there was Spanish, Italian, Mexican and French, decorated with flags of the country itself that made the show that night.
One of the restaurants/bars in the entertainment complex, located in the Grand Palladium White Sand, is the Sports Bar. The Sports Bar has two types of board game like billiards and table tennis, as well as television screens that show football games, hockey, baseball and basketball. Or just the sports that were scheduled at that. The Spanish group we went with thought we would watch on TV Fernando Alonso's career, but as the bar was closed we couldn't. As I commented the only pity is that the opening hours are from 18.00 and at that time you can ask for whatever you like snack-wise, but before the kitchen closes. Besides the menu is also very varied with lots of dishes to snack on. We tried chicken nuggets, onion rings and hot dogs served with potatoes and onions, but what we liked best was the fried chicken wings and Hawaiian burgers.
There are many bars and restaurants in Isla Mujeres. We chose Viva Cuba. That was the one we liked, because of its Cuban setting, music and because I wanted to have a mojito (haha). It is on the main street in the center of the island, where most of the restaurants are. You can eat Cuban food or pizza but we did not. The mojito and the daiquiri tasted good.
La Hacienda restaurant is next to the pool at Grand Palladium Colonial, it serves a buffet meal for breakfast, lunch or even dinner. Breakfast had practically anything you can imagine, juices made with blender of almost every imaginable flavor, lots of assorted fruit, at the grill you could do fried eggs or omelets with ingredients that you wanted, artisan pastries, french toast, pancakes, hot food such as sausages, bacon, beans, quesadillas, etc. Although what surprised us was a corner where they would cook grilled sandwiches with ingredients that you chose yourself, it also had eligieras and a good industrial toaster for bread - toasted or roasted. Both this food and the dinner had grills to cook the fish or meat you wanted at the time. The truth is that it was very well organized, removing as in all Mexican restaurants the drinks service that takes hours, the rest worked properly. Meal times are: Buffet breakfast 7.00 to 11.00. Buffet lunch 13.30 to 15.30. Buffet dinner 18.00 to 22.30.
The Buffet Grand Azul Restaurant is in the Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa, right next to the main pool which also has some spectacular views. Among the different food served was Italian cuisine (spaghetti, macaroni or pizza - all rich) the restaurant also had a "cooking show" and made you fish or meat or whatever you preferred. Really this buffet was very good, it was "supposedly" simpler than buffets at different hotels, I had occasions that I liked more than the official buffet. Also it was fun watching the birds perch on empty tables and take the remains of food that people had left. This restaurant has several times for different foods such as: continental breakfast: 11.00 to 11.45, lunch buffet: 12.00 to 16.00, snacks: 16.00 to 17.00, afternoon tea: 17.00 to 18.00. Also do not forget that Big Blue bar was open 10.00 to 01.00 in the morning.
This modest, but elegant restaurant specializes in crabs ranging from blue to king crab and Alaska snow crab, and holds the title of having any variety crabs and shellfish. They offer a great selection of grilled seafood, such as shrimp, salmon or typical American cuts for meat lovers. Another specialty that could never be lacking in seafood restaurants are lobsters and prawns. One of the most unique attractions in this restaurant and for my taste, is its peculiar terrace over the lagoon, because from here you can feed your adopted pet, a crocodile every afternoon without fail makes his appearance to receive his endowment of "leftovers" which since the restaurant opened without fail has made its appearance every day beautiful and memorable. This restaurant is located in Cancun Hotel Zone at km 14.5 of Blvd Kukulcan. Any bus from the hotel zone to leave him at the door of this restaurant. An experience that you really do not want to miss, once you come to Cancun.
