Chick Fil A
(3)
What initially struck me about this place are all commercials denouncing the consumption of beef, and that it is better to eat chicken! They only serve chicken, nuguets, burgers, wings, breasts, chicken fingers and fries. The place, despite being a fast food, has atmosphere, and their tables are delicately decorated with small vases and their employees go through the tables to offer refills and make sure everything is to customer satisfaction. It is one of the few restaurants in the U.S. that isn't open to the public on Sunday, giving everyone the sacred holiday, which does not happen often in this country, and I speak from experience. The first restaurant in the chain opened in Georgia in 1946.

Don Pedro

Every afternoon I walk up Buford Highway to pick up my son, and I was always curious to see the parking lot of this place buzzing every day. At the end I asked a Mexican coworker and he told me the place was really good, so I decided to try it. He was right, the food is authentic and the service too. The decor is simple, a cafe like any other, on the cheap American with panoramic TVs broadcasting channels and some photos from Mexico. The food is delicious. They sell soft tacos or combined for euro prices reaching seven or eight euros. Beverages include fruit juices and all dishes are accompanied detortillas handmade. A place to go but with a good appetite because you eat well!

Mr Valdez
(1)
Sometimes when you're away from home, there are things you miss besides your family, and when you find delicious food, you feel a little bit more at home. Mr Valdez is a small corner of Colombia in Norcross, just north of Atlanta. The restaurant is located on Buford Highway and is open Monday to Sunday for lunch, dinner or snack. There is always Bin Huang, chicken rice, fried tilapia, fried plantain, maduro, Passion Fruit juices, Lulo and all those typical earthly things. Sometimes they also prepare Ajiaco with chicken and you can eat-in or take-out. They also cater. The atmosphere, though it does maintain some vestiges of a Colombian snack bar, it's not quite authentic, but who cares if you are Colombian. Sometimes they even play Colombian stations, which gives you a nostalgic feeling.

Las Tortas Locas

Very close to my work, I found this fast-food Mexican place that's very good. I went on the recommendation of a friend, took the risk, and it ended up being a very nice place, buzzing with people and with authentic Mexican dishes, uncomplicated and familiar. The place is very small, many people choose to take away. The service is fast and you can add many sauces to the delicious nachos. It specializes in nachos, burritos, tacos and quesadillas. It also offers desserts.

Krystal
(2)
I had noticed the Krystal poster on my way to the office for awhile, and like the simplicity of its advertisement, it never invited me to enter. Then, over time, and bored with eating the same thing, we decided to try it and loved it. What it is has nothing to do with its looks, because the burgers are delicious! It's like any other fast food joint, spacious and with an area for sauces, napkins, cutlery and soda, with free refills. Although you order and pay in cash, the food is freshly prepared and the waiters will bring it to the table. The service was very good and the people were friendly. The restaurant has retro decor of white, red and black. The main menu has mini burgers. There are offers of 4 units or doubles, and they come in mini boxes, ideal for sharing and you can take home what you don't eat. I liked it and will keep going there. Don't be fooled by its simplicity.

The Varsity Gwinnett
(1)
The Varsity Gwinnett seeks to provide an environment and a product similar to the classic in downtown Atlanta, but does not reach this height. Once you know the place, I must admit it is nice. Do not compare, because they have no point of comparison. The few times I've gone, the atmosphere is more familiar than the center and does not have the same movement, but it also has a souvenir sales area and its famous sauces. The cuisine is the same, I recommend the hot dogs with chili and onion rings.

Mambo Italiano
Yesterday, in a mini celebration we went to dinner at Mambo Italiano, in The Forum shopping center in Norcross, northeast of Atlanta. Geared to those over 50 and 60, is an image of what was the jet setter in Italy and Greece. Many pictures in Black and White, totally different from what is perceived from the outside with its terraces in a European style. The scooters, as an element in the Restauante give it a unique touch. Live music and a couple dancing casually yesterday for the taste of the customers. Kentucky Deby and friendly atmosphere. The varied menu, appetizers, salads, meats and pasta with a good selection of wines. A nice place to go.

Waffle House
(1)
Sunday is the day to get out to breakfast and one of our favorite places is the Waffle House. At the Waffle House you can order take-aways, eat at the bar or be served at the tables. The atmosphere is very American. Waffles can be enjoyed all day long, the most typical during breakfast with butter or fried eggs with bacon and hashbrowns, the best southern style. The rest of the day sandwiches, hamburgers and hot dogs, among others, are also on offer. Cash or credit cards are accepted and the dishes cost around $8 (about 6 Euros). The people who frequent the place is varied, from young people who start the day doing some sport to executives who have a quick coffee to families and older people. Many customers are regulars who area quite at home and who chat and joke with the staff. A very authentic place to be visited in the southern states.

Pizza Hut

When I was younger, my family and I used to go to Pizza Hut sporadically in Miami, but once it became an international chain, its authenticity was lost for me. There is a location in Barcelona that I went to because I really wanted to try the BBQ pizza, which I couldn't really find in other places. When we moved to the USA, we started going back to Pizza Hut for its deals, and although it's more popular for take-out, I still like to eat in the restaurant. The last time we were there, there was a new type of stuff-crust pizza that you can rip off piece by piece. The taste was delicious, but it wasn't very easy to eat because the crust is so heavy. This pizza is better eaten with cutlery, like the traditional pizza in Chicago, and with lots of pepperoni, my favourite ingredient. Worth a try.

Panda Express
In the area where we live, there is a big colony of Asians, including Chinese, Korean and Thai, which is why there are many Eastern restaurants. The majority are unique, in the sense that it is a family with local Chinese food offering Eastern American, but there is also a place that surprised me because it is much more dynamic than the others, and is Panda Express . Something like a McDonalds but with Chinese food, because you go to a bar to pick what you want and finally pay for what you have chosen. They are small, and sometimes there no place to sit, many people prefer to take it home, so everything is ready to go. My son loves it, and we had one on the way home, so sometimes we stop for a change of scenery and eat there. Prices are around $ 10, about 7 euros, and includes drink and fortune cookie, typical. The dishes are big, with noodles and rice with shrimp, chicken and beef and veggies including bamboo. It is served with cutlery, but we like chop sticks, and the end is not so hard to use them. It is a clean, with pictures of Pandas and decorated in black, red and white, a place to go in a hurry or not, and a nice change from burges.

Hi Life
Ultimately, the best way to find a good recommendation is by recommendation. We arrived with my son on a Saturday night for dinner at Hi Life, which we saw on Holcomb Road and as we walked aimlessly looking for a nice place to go. We were disappointed. Upon arrival, we saw that the place looked luxurious, I looked at the the prices and decided that we could share dishes which would make the bill not be outrageous and not have wine. The initial accommodation was horrible, we practically had to be to be served. I was about to leave, but was too hungry to look for somewhere else to eat. After a bad start, I must admit that the waitress was very friendly. In the end we paid about 40 euros, although the dish was good, I imagined better quality and quantity. Although we did not drink, the wine list was extensive. I liked decor of the place, a bar area, dining area and another corner that allows small groups of friends to gather more privately, avoiding the bustle of others going into the restaurant.

Arby´s
(1)
The Arby's is one of these fast foods that I have always eaten since childhood. Upon arrival to the U.S., I decided to re-try it and I liked it. It offers burgers and roast beef sandwiches with various sauces, including BBQ and side dishes like potatoes and onion rings. It made me realize that whenever we go, the place is empty, not sure if people prefer to go through the Drive Thru, or that the American and locally is leaving this type of hand, with more nutritious offerings . What is Nicholas loves to ring the bell, because when you say it out if the service and food you liked, give a touch ... and in doing so, some waiter behind the bar thanks you.

Moe's Southwest Grill
(1)
Mexico is a country that has managed to break boundaries and their food is known internationally. Moe's has managed to offer a Mexican-American plan in Fast Food. Basically the theory is build your own plate, you can choose from nachos, burritos, tacos and salads, ingredients to add such as rice and beans, assorted meats, vegetables and sauces. The dishes are generous and can make additions of some ingredients like guacamole and bacon for an additional dollar. It offers a free bar to add to the dish sauces, ranging from mild to very spicy, and soft drink vending machine offers over 100 varieties of Coca Cola, one of its main attractions.

Hibachi Grill
(3)
The Hibachi Grill is one of those places you have to try at least once. I have been several times due to the great price to quality ratio, and because there is such great variety and quantity there. The chef of the restaurant usually makes the dinners there himself. The dining room is huge, it is centrally located, and the buffet offers all types of food, from a sushi bar, to grilled dishes, to salads, vegetables, meats, rice, noodles, and even an ice cream and dessert area. When you arrive, the servers give you silverware or chopsticks, drinks, and then everyone is on their own. All of the servers have great recommendations, and are friendly and fun to talk to. The price of the buffet is about $10, and you can order meals to go, and they accept credit cards. It is open 24/7, 365 days a year, and that really means any time, any day.

Teds Montana Grill
(1)
On several occasions I have gone to Ted's Montana Grill restaurant and it was really worth it. His American environment offers a la carte dishes, including beef and bison (or buffalo ... ), as one of its main attractions. The restaurant is owned by Ted Turner and George McKerrow Jr. They cofounded it in January 2002. It offers fun hooks and an abundance of food. One of the fun hooks is that they give 2 dollars bills for change (which are low circulation in the United States and that many people keep as souvenirs) They also gives silver dollars in change, but this is only if you pay in cash. I definitely saved some. The decor includes a Bison head on the wall, and wood furniture from recycled tablecloths, to assist in environment recovery. There is a children's menu and the restaurant also accepts credit cards.
