A place that isn´t too recommendable. I have no idea ve they think they are charging 20€ for a drink. A place with little personality and bad service. The music is worthless and the décor does not come to the glamor that their owners want to impart. This site is the clear local paradigm wants to be more than they can be. There are much better that they are not given such good and acceptable prices.
This is one of the pubs I used to go when I used to spend the weekend in Ponferrada. It is located in the lower area of the center of the city. If you past during the day you won´t even notice it´s there, but at night is quite recognizable by the amount of people who congregate on the street outside the premises, and double-parked cars (in Ponferrada you usually go out by car because although it is small, there are several clubbing áreas in the outskirts). The facade is made of metal and has a neon sign with the name of the pub. Free entry but there are bouncers at the door. The place is quite big, L-shaped and is usually full of people, the first part is narrower but widens at the bottom and a small dance floor, there are two bars, one in each zone. It´s decor is very modern, with lamps (low light) glass, leather sofa area, metal walls, big screen TV where they play music videos. The atmosphere is of people between 18 and 35, and the music is varied, both Spanish and international with the latest hits. Open Thursday through Saturday from 12pm to 5am.
This pub is located in the historic center of Ponferrada in the upper area, opposite the castle of the Temple and the Basilica de la Encina. The decor is rustic, English pub style, bare wood, antiques on the walls, and dim lighting. It has a fairly large bar where they serve all kinds of coffees, drinks, cocktails ... At the entrance there is an area with high tables and stools, and at the back of the room low tables with wooden chairs and a glass area where you see the castle. In summer the terrace is very crowded. Furthermore, this place is famous for its shows on Thursday night. They put on comic monologues and other performances.
Pop Art Café is next to the wall of Astorga, very close to the main square and town hall and is a perfect place to spend the afternoon sipping a smoothie or start the evening enjoying a cocktail. Its interior is what catches your attention as it is perfectly decorated with paintings of Pop fashion, furniture and sofas with prints and bright colors. I would recommend that you have a drink in this place.
