Chan Chan (the name means Sun Sun), and I´m not surprised, because the day I visited there was an excruciating heat. It is the biggest adobe in Latin America and the second in the world, constructed by the Chimu 5km from Trujillo. It was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the year 1986 and the city is formed by 9 walled cities or small towns. The whole kingdom was the capital of the Chimu culture Chimor and is an amazing place to visit .
This is the making of a sunset on the beach at Huanchaco, in that moment a fisherman was getting out of his boat after a day of fishing, this boat is called "Caballito de totora" and was used since pre-Inca days by the residents of the Mochica - Chimu on the northern coast of Peru.
Trujillo Cathedral, on the side of the Plaza Bolivar, is an example of colonial architecture, constructed in 1630. The altars are Baroque and Rococo, and it retains the Quadi belonging to the Quito and Cuzco school of painting.
The Plaza de Armas is a bit different from traditional squares due to the beautiful cathedral in the corner. With its warm yellow color, you can't miss it. There are several other colonial buildings of different colors featuring charming wooden balconies. In the center of the square is a monument to Liberty, surrounded by pools.
This beach had one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. We waited with a group of friends all afternoon just to see the sunset on the beach and it was really worth it. I hope to do it again next year.

Huaca The Emerald is in the village of Mansiche, just 3 km from Trujillo. It's an archaeological site associated with the Chimu culture and linked to Chan Chan. It's a huge rectangular building (65m long x 41 m wide) with two platforms and central ramps. Geometrical figures and animals decorate the adobe walls.
The viewpoint resort is a place to spend with family. You must choose the day you would like to visit, and it is advisable to go in weekends or to start on a Monday because it is much quieter. The road to Simbal is full of greenery, the project Chavimochic, we passed a sugar cane factory. At the tourist complex we had to pay 10 SOLES. With our ticket we could enjoy the food , overlooking the pool and I recommend going in the morning because if not the dishes will sell out. If you want to bring money you can buy ice cream, soda, etc. We also had the famous PICARONES!! They are very good. It is said to have two gaming environments where kids could ride horses, and also a small train ride for the children. It has a wide field and courts for volleyball and football., Parking. A very attractive black man sang. Also there was a mini zoo ... Where one could find peacocks, and a lamb was born recently, among other animals. We found lots of plants.
It is located in Chan Chan, Huanchaco on the road. The museum has original artifacts discovered in the excavations of Chan Chan, such as idols of wood, ceramic, metal and debris (bricks, ropes, beams). There are also rooms devoted to agriculture Chimú, with irrigation techniques and products that are grown in the Moche valley.
LOCATION: North of Peru, on the La Libertad Coast, at km 614 of the Panamerican Highway. It is almost 2km long, with a mix of sand and rocks. The wind blows constantly, creating huge waves, and from north to south there's always a strong current of air. The waves are between 0.5 and 2 metres, depending on the wind. To enjoy the best surf, come between March and October, although there are waves all year round. You'll need a 5'8 "to 6'7" surfboard. The water is cold all year, so it's advisable to use a full wetsuit. You'll need to wear boots, too, as there are sharp rocks. There are hotel services with transport, offering prices between 40 and 90 dollars a day.
