Earl Haig's statue

+1

1 review of Earl Haig's statue

A controversial statue

Marshal Earl Haig was the commander in chief of the British armies in France during much of the First World War. His tactics led to him being one of the most controversial figures in British military history. However this statue in the middle of Whitehall pays tribute to him. Commissioned by the British Parliament and sculpted by Alfred Frank Hardiman, it was controversially unveiled just before Armistice Day.
