In Jodhpur we were advised to buy fabrics, carpets, etc. We went to this shop to buy, among other things, handkerchiefs, scarves, pashminas, duvets, covers for Nordic, etc. They said they have designer replicas. The truth is that they were precious. We were told that they were like a kind of cooperative in which they sold many products and crafts made in small workshops.
The best souvenir to take back from Udaipur is a replica of the thumbnails that are in the museum of the city palace. This shop performs demonstrations so you can see the colors used and craftsmanship of how they are made. We were assured that all the works that could be bought here were of the best quality and cheaper than on the street. But everyone buys where they prefer, right?. In this store you could also buy other products like fabrics, saris, etc. .. but the guide advised us that the choice is better in Jaipur.
This was the first stop we made with the Jeep, was a small village near Jaipur where a local demonstrated how to make vases, jugs etc.
There were even two daring people who had private lessons, haha. What struck us most is potters wheel which rudimentary and although people tried, they couldn;t turn it. There was a small shop to purchase their products.
