All about Prague tourism

Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and has historically been one of Central Europe’s most important cities. The city has changed hands many times during its 1000-year existence, so it’s no wonder the Prague tourism is designed to help visitors discover this amazing city from the times of the Holy Roman Empire to the Hapsburgs to World War I, Czechoslovakia, and the present. Your Prague holidays are the perfect chance to not only discover a city rich in history, but also one of the most exciting nightlife and restaurant scenes in Europe.

Many travelers choose to visit Prague as part of a rail-trip through central Europe. As such, Prague is easily accessible via train from most cities in Central Europe. Many other trips to Prague involve a Prague - Budapest - Vienna route either on train or, if you’re lucky, on a riverboat. However, if your holidays in Prague are of the traditional sort, you’ll be arriving at Prague International Airport where you’ll find plenty of buses to take to you various points in the city center.

When you travel to Prague, remember that you’ll have to change money. The Czech currency is the Koruna (CZK) and, as a rough guide, $1 = 2CZK. You’ll be able to easily change money at the airport or at banks and tellers throughout your trip to Prague. So now that you've arrived and changed some money, it’s time to hit the town and begin your Prague holiday!

The first stop on your Prague vacation should be Prague Castle, a gargantuan 9th-century castle offering amazing views of the city, as well as the spectacular St. Vitus Cathedral and St. George's Basilica just nearby. Then, make sure to head for a walk over St. Charles Bridge to visit the quaint and charming Old Town Square. Don’t forget to stop in a tavern along the way to try Prague’s famous beers and hearty Bohemian cuisine.
