Museums in Marietta
Gone with the Wind Museum
North of Atlanta, in the town of Marietta, there is a museum dedicated to the film based on the novel by Margaret Mitchell, Gone with the Wind. The museum is open Monday to Saturday inviting visitors to see objects that were used in the filming of the movie, along with costumes and period photographs. It also has a souvenir shop with products sporting the logo of the film and memorable images. Admission is $7, about 5 euros, and there are discounts for seniors, students and groups. It's one of the main attractions promoted by the tourist office in Atlanta, along with the writer's own house and some southern homes that display what life was like before the war of succession that marks North American history. The museum can be rented for events.

Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art
If you want to do something a bit different while you're in Atlanta, then I recommend going to Marietta. And while you're there, don't miss Marietta Square, a BEAUTIFUL place within this historic town. There are dozens of things to see and do, and top of the list is the Art Museum. Here you can see great works by local artists, and admission is free ... sometimes. Check online before going, as prices vary according to the exhibitions.
Cinemas in Marietta
Picture Show
Hidden away behind an avenue is the Picture Show Entertainment. It's a cinema, but actually it shows movies that have just finished playing in major chains, and instead of paying an astronomical price for a ticket, here you can get in for just $3 ($1.50 on Wednesdays!). The rooms have great picture and sound quality, and a popcorn and soda cost $8. There's plenty of parking, and there are lots of restaurants nearby to eat before or after your movie.
