Mermaid riding a dolphin

The Mermaid Fountain is in the second leg of the steps of the Santuario de los Remedios (counting from above). It was built by Manuel Domínguez Barrera in 1886 after being commissioned by the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Remedies. All carved in granite, it's a small rectangular temple which houses the sculpture of a mermaid riding a dolphin (hence its name), located on a clamshell. Water flows out and falls on a rounded tank. The fountain is across from Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes.
