Most impressive fortress

The stronghold of Palamedes's is in Nafplion, located on a cliff and 216 meters high. It is the most impressive fortress of the three that are in this small town in Peloponeso and was built between 1711 and 1714 by the Venetians. Being at the top, the fortress of Palamedes offers a unique view of the sea, Nafplion and the surrounding area. These views would be enough alone to make the place a must-see, but it also has several independent bastions within its walls. The best preserved and most important is the bastion of Agios Andreas. This was the home of the commander of the garrison and its name comes from a tiny church that is located in the inner courtyard.
