The Carthage Room

The Carthage Chamber is the largest room in Bardo Palace . It's in the old courtyard, which is now sealed off. Its height is impressive. There are two floors, the upper one serves as a perimeter corridor and is supported by marble columns. It makes for a perfect vantage point for seeing the bottom (from here you can appreciate great drawings and mosaics). The ceilings are adorned by some interesting pinnacles of plaster hanging, as well as four huge chandeliers. The hall houses many Roman statues from Carthage and other places like Utica, Oudna or Dougga.
