The Old Customs Building

1 review of The Old Customs Building

The Old Customs Building

The Royal Customs was created in 1487 (by order of King João II) due to the rise in maritime trade in the port of Vila do Conde. The building, in the heart of the city's waterfront (at Praça da Ribeira), was built in the fifteenth century and extended in the eighteenth century. Currently it contains the Shipbuilding Museum and Documentation Centre of the XVI century seaports.
