August 2010, we decided to return to the same place as last year, but this time with more days and a little more relaxation. The expected result was an unforgettable holiday, the beach has lots of possibilities, sun, rocks to look for crabs and other creatures, an area where you can snorkel and see many fish, a park for the kids and dens essential for beers.
A sunset on Santi Petri beach is unique. As I can't describe it you'll have to see it and experience it for yourself. How to describe the shade of sky, with the sun falling slowly over the horizon? These pictures show some Kite-surfing artists, juggling with the east wind.
Anyone who likes golf should not miss the Novo Sancti Petri establishment, a field considered for the highest level in the country. As the name suggests, it is in Sancti Petri, close to La Barrosa Beach. The golf course has 27 holes, was expanded in the year 2001 with 9 more, to add 2 18-hole courses: Mar y Pinos as travel "A" and as travel center "B". Play there is a pleasure for those people who appreciate the combination of golf, ocean and forest. Don´t miss it.
What to do? There is nothing better than a walk on the pier and Santi-Petri marina, the nacelles waiting to go to sea, the boats for a relaxing ride. And all with an odor, flavor and color of the sea. A relaxing ride and delights the eye, I never tire of repeating it as every day is different.
At one end of the luxury community of Novo Sancti Petri, road and the community of land belonging Roche and Conil de la Frontera, there is a tower-fort belonging to Chiclana called "Torre del Puerco", which also gives its name to that area. La Torre del Puerco is a well-known tower around, because you can have a lookout and witness of much of what happens on the beach of La Barrosa, on the Atlantic. This is the tower for defense and military which was constructed in the Middle Ages as part of the chain of watchtowers that dot the area of the Costa de la Luz to Gibraltar. Though now obsolete, is a place visited by its strategic location and the views. The sunset from this area of the beach La Barrosa is impressive, so if we want to make it even more mystical, what better way to get closer to contemplate the historical and mysterious halo that surrounds it.
Santana is the viewpoint of the border Chicano (Cádiz). From there you can see the whole vilage of Chiclana, including a chapel which is open for tourists and for residents. Believers go for the virgin, giving gifts. It's very nice, well worth seeing ...
This is a small family character beach. You can play water sports, rent kayaks, take a boat out or stroll along the coast. But it's essential to see the sunset from the beach bar while listening to chill-out music and a mojito in hand for a small moment of pleasure.
This old house belonged to a holding of clams grown in these marshes. This zone is great for bird watching and for those who just want to see nature at its best. As the Port itself, small and cozy with everything necessary for the amateur and the professional. It has several typical restaurants where you eat the best fish in the area.
8 km from Chiclana de la Frontera, is the tiny town of Sancti Petri, with ruins of its castle dating from the 8th century. For the Roman finds discovered in the vicinity, experts believe that they constructed it over a temple dedicated to Hercules: Http :/ / www.Toprural.Com/andalucia/cadiz/casas-rurales-chiclana-de-la-frontera_rm-es-11015.htm
the town name suggests a negative tone. We are also talking about a village that was begun in the middle of the last century, but beyond mid-1970, was left. We don´t know the reasons for the sudden abandonment, because the environment where it is lovely, but I'm sure there was some compelling reason for the abandonment of these fertile lands as related to the ocean and fishing . I do not know, come to think of cold, you may have to do the little land that has this sort of cape that binds to the La Barrosa thanks to a narrow strip of land occupied by the road and the end of the Sancti Petri beach. The town that visitors see today is made up of a large block flanked by a road that goes around, made up of of semi-demolished house and solar full of scrap metal and dirt. As you can see in the photos, it isn´t not advised to go inside the bowels of the town by the danger of actual collapse of the structures. You can see buildings and rooms, which in its day was surely a beautiful church and a number of dilapidated buildings. Although the ruins, I must say that the town has its mystery and charm, especially by the sea environment, fishing port and surrounding pipes. Of course, not everything is going to be negative, there is a thread of hope for this town in the future, since in Chiclana tourist office assured us that there is already a plan to rebuild the town and make this site a attractive place for tourism, so I hope that in a few years, any other user can upload photos to date and most beautiful village of Sancti Petri.
