Tallac Historic Site

Some of you minubers might remember the Japanese cartoon series, Jackie and Nape, which took place in Tallac Forest. This forest where a mountain actually exists is in one of the most impressive landscapes the American West has to offer: Lake Tahoe. What began over a century ago to be the summer retreat for three elite families from San Francisco, has gone down in the Tallac Historical Site, thanks to government work and a lot of volunteer work that has helped to recover some of the buildings and roads that are there in order to give us the opportunity to travel through time. To this we must add the proximity to Lake Tahoe, real inland sea surrounded by woods, where, escaping from the most popular sites you may enjoy a wilderness almost alone. A walk along the heights contemplating Emerald Bay is unforgettable.

Heavenly is a ski resort in South Lake Tahoe, located by one of the largest mountains in North America on the border of California with Nevada. For lovers of skiing and snowboarding, the resort has a lot to offer! Besides the numerous slopes with different difficulty levels, this resort offers a unique view across Lake Tahoe. And after a tiring day in the snow, you can find many restaurants and bars in the area, as well as the biggest attraction of all: casinos!

Spider Lake

This magical place is only accessible by 4x4 or foot. The water is so clear you can see the bottom, more than 3 meters, but it is very cold, even in June. Bring your lip balm, as the glaciers around Lake Tahoe make the area very dry. GPS: N39 ° 01.080 W120 ° 16.421

Emerald Bay lookout point is part of Emerald Bay State Park in Lake Tahoe, California. It is located along US 89, on the southwest side of Lake Tahoe. It's a popular tourist spot and it is really worth seeing. The sunset here is stunning and photographers will love their time here. Some parts are surrounded by towering trees and once you peek through, it felt like you were discovering paradise. During the summertime, it is really hard to find a parking spot, so plan your time wisely around the Lake Tahoe area.
Viewpoints in South Lake Tahoe
Logan Shoals Vista Point
Logan Shoals Vista Point is located at South Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America, which means there are activities to be done all year round. It is also situated at the border or California and Nevada. You will notice the difference when you cross the border because casinos start popping up on the Nevada side. Logan Shoals Vista Point is a lookout point along US 50. There are couple of small trails at the point and they provide one of the best views of Lake Tahoe. You will notice that it does not even look like a lake, more like a ocean. I recommend to take a picnic at this lookout and soak in the good vibes
Waterfalls in South Lake Tahoe
Cascade Falls
This moderate, short hike (which is about 2 miles round-trip) is a must-do when in the Lake Tahoe Area. It’s right next to Emerald Bay, and it’s quite a photogenic trail. In late spring/early summer, it is usually not too cold, but it is helpful to take a light jacket just in case. Although the hike is a short distance, make sure to take some water because the view at the top makes it almost impossible to resist spending at least a few minutes taking in the view of the bay and listening to the soothing sound of the waterfall.
