Ribeira Square

Ribeira Square (Praça da Ribeira) is a large open area on the banks of the River Avenue, it's a very busy place as it's one of the walking areas of the city par excellence. Moreover, there are several interesting elements: The old "alfandega" (or custom, where the museum of shipbuilding is), the Casa do Barco (where you can see several traditional fishing boats), a replica of a sixteenth century Portuguese ship and two commemorative milestones (Stone brand and pillory, or roll of justice).
