Rua Saint-Joseph

1 review of Rua Saint-Joseph

The street was once the most important Quebec

The Saint-Joseph Street is in the neighborhood of the same name, which is now called Nuovo Saint-Roch because of the revitalization that has occurred in recent years. The street was once the most important commercially Quebec, and today is returning to be quite popular. In the 70 part of the street was covered in an attempt to create a shopping and lure back customers, with the opening of shopping centers in the city suburbs, had stopped shopping in downtown. But this venture was a failure - people have not returned to the center and the mall has become a shelter for beggars. Between 90 and 2000 the street was again all outdoors. Currently the rue Saint-Joseph has shops that only exist there, such as Mango, Urban Outfitters other boutiques. In addition to shopping for clothes, shoes and accessories, the St-Joseph is home to many bars, restaurants, design shops, musical instruments, a huge toy store, the Saint-Joseph church and Scientology, and theater Impérial Bell . The street is empty in my photos because they were made on a weekday and before the time of "happy hour", but it is much sought after by both local and by mainly tourists in the summer when businesses are open longer (until 20h ) and the bars have terraces. In winter the street comes Christmas decoration.
